Well the Sixers continue to be up and down, but they are facing tougher competition so it's not wildly concerning. They are 24-19 and sixth in the Eastern Conference. George and Embiid have been playing which has been awesome! I had no idea what to expect from them this season, but they've been playing and playing pretty frequently.
That being said George and Embiid did not play Tuesday and that certainly didn't help the Sixers' cause. The game was strange because the Suns were in control for a majority of the time but the Sixers made it almost interesting in the fourth quarter. They kept fighting and fighting and certainly made the Suns stress a bit. Like, as soon as the Suns wanted to cruise to an easy victory the Sixers kept on the gas. The score was never super close but close enough to annoy the Suns. Sooo yeah I say it's strange but it's kind of a compliment to the Sixers.
On Thursday, the Sixers played another tough game against the Rockets. This time they had Embiid and Goerge and they were indeed victorious but it was not easy whatsoever as the game went into OT! Embiid and George showed their value though and the Sixers certainly would have lost without them. Embiid had a triple-double and LED the Sixers in MINUTES by playing 46! I can't say I saw that coming. George had several clutch defensive moments himself and his defense overall was just really solid. Tyrese had 36 and Oubre Jr. had a very helpful 26!
Today the Sixers play one of their bigger rivals in the New York Knicks and it looks like the Big Three will be out there for this critical game. The Sixers are firmly in the mix in the East and the Knicks are ahead of them in the conference by just a hair. The Knicks are 26-18 and fourth in the conference.
This feels like a must win game!
