The A's start off the 'I-80 Series' with a victory! Nick Kurtz continues to stay hot at the plate. He's now homered in three consecutive games and has 9 RBI in his last four. He's really rolling now after a bit of a slow start. He now has 8 homers, 29 RBI, an OPS of .923, and a batting average of .276! The man from Lancaster, Pennsylvania has got a really bright future I tell ya!
Aaron Civale had a nice enough start too. He's now 5-1! The A's offense helps him out at times but he's still been reliable.
27% through their season now, the A's are two games above .500 and hold a two game lead in the AL West. That's not too shabby!
Luis Severino gets the start tonight for the A's. Severino's stats don't look as good as he's been pitching I feel. It's actually a bit odd. He didn't start off the season too hot so perhaps those games are lingering as far as his numbers are concerned. The guy is durable and professional and I think he's on the right track.
I'm excited to see Henry Bolte continue to develop for the A's. He's 5 for 10 in his MLB career so far! He definitely looks the part!
I heard that this is the Giants' worst start to a season since 2008 which is nuts to think about. They've been a solid organization over the years and so I expect them to play their best ball to try and turn their season around. The A's need to stay locked in!
Late night baseball again, always fun!
