The Jets were absolutely pretty terrible last season, AND then their hopeful very young franchise QB Zach Wilson nearly blows his knee out in the preseason. The Jets just seem always down bad.
It seems that Wilson may have dodged a bullet, but I would say there's basically an eighty percent chance he doesn't play against the Ravens this week. It's a shame because, despite the Jets sucking last year, I'll admit that they are slowly but surely building a solid roster on offense, and now their QB is a big question mark. Their receiving core is actually pretty legit with Corey Davis, Elijah Moore and rookie Garrett Wilson. They also drafted a STUD running back in Breece Hall as well.
Perhaps there is a mild silver lining, as well as an interesting storyline birthed from Wilson's injury as unfortunate as it may be. QB2 in New York is none other than Mr. Joe Flacco. Joe Flacco's career took a somewhat abrupt nosedive after being a really solid winning QB for most of his career. I mean, the dude was legit elite for a handful of years.
As a matter of fact Flacco led a team to a Super Bowl Championship in the 2012/13 season, and was the Super Bowl MVP.
Which team did Flacco lead to the promised land? The Baltimore Ravens. Who took Flacco's job in 2018? Current superstar QB Lamar Jackson.
Perhaps some revenge is due for Mr. Flacco? We shall see!
The Baltimore Ravens are healthy entering the season obviously, but the only reason that's worth mentioning is because last season they were basically ravaged by injuries, especially at the running back position. The Ravens solid running back J.K. Dobbins should be good to go.
When healthy, Ravens QB Lamar Jackson might be the scariest QB in the league. I still worry about his health a lot, and believe he should improve as a pure passer but he has improved there a bit every season, perhaps 2022 he will take yet another step in the right direction. Nevertheless with a healthy team around him and a healthy J.K. Dobbins, the Ravens could be a legit Super Bowl threat.
I got the Ravens winning in a close game, 23-20.
How do you see this game playing out?
