Considering the frigid weather and that the football and basketball seasons are in full swing, baseball does seem miles away. BUT the Phillies secured one of their best players in Kyle Schwarber for the next half a decade! This makes me so happy!
Kyle Schwarber had numerous interested teams but the Phillies managed to keep him in The City of Brotherly Love. I'm so happy the Phillies took this seriously. I was worried that maybe Schwarber would want to go to his hometown area and sign with the Reds but I'm worried no more!
In his four years in Philly, Schwarber has averaged nearly 47 homers and nearly 109 RBI per season. He's missed a grand total of 21 games in his four years so he's proven to be quite durable.
This also means the Phillies should have Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber in the lineup for the next half decade. Now that's a good duo to build around!
Schwarber is not only an elite player but he has a strong reputation of just being a solid human being and a good presence in the clubhouse.
All in all I'm so excited to experience more summers full of Schwarbombs and hopefully a World Series!

I have been absurdly inconsistent with this Road to the Show series but it does indeed live on LOL. A.D. is enjoying his time in Oakland, but does have his eyes on joining the Phillies down the line! The A's are 17-17 in May 2027 looking to get another World Series! Maybe even go back to back??
