Marcus Mariota vs Jameis Winston on opening day. So trippy. As a Titans fan, I remember seeing this opening week matchup before. Seven years ago actually. When Marcus was a Titan and Jameis was a Buccaneer. Both young men were making highly anticipated debuts as the top two picks of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Nice little throwback video...

Both Jameis and Marcus have had some success and some challenges throughout their careers, honestly their careers have been eerily similar for the most part.
This Sunday, seven years later, both quarterbacks start new chapters of their careers as NFC South Division rivals.
For the Falcons, not too many people expect them to be all that competitive. Long time franchise QB Matt Ryan is now a Colt, and for the most part the team seems to be in a sort of re-build mode. But there are some people that believe the Falcons could surprise some folks. It all depends on what Marcus Mariota can do and if he can stay healthy basically.
For the Saints, they begin a new era themselves. They have a new head coach for the first time since 2006 as long time, well respected and admired former head coach Sean Payton decided to retire. Dennis Allen is now the head honcho in New Orleans. QB Jameis Winston is healthy again after tragically getting injured after playing well in the early portion of last season.
This game has a lot of new faces all over the place. I think the only reliable factor in this matchup is probably the Saints strong defense. For that reason only I believe the Saints will win, 20-12.
I so want the Falcons to win though, I will be low-key rooting for the Falcons as long as they don't somehow impact the Titans' season LOL.
Who you got in this one?!
