Writing about Joe Burrow does not bring me much joy, as he always seems to beat my Titans. Pretty sure Burrow's undefeated against them. Ugh.
For the past two seasons now though, Burrow and the Bengals seem to beat a lot of teams in general, not just my Titans. Burrow has played in the NFL for three seasons, but these last two seasons Burrow has really blossomed. He's risen the ranks of the league's best pretty abruptly and swiftly.
Joe Burrow is known to do that, even in college at LSU. Burrow started for only two seasons and his first was rather pedestrian, but his second in 2019 was quite mind-boggling. He led LSU to a tremendous 15-0 National Championship season while throwing 60 touchdown passes. That season Burrow won the Heisman Trophy and just about every other offensive award. It was just a historical season.
That's kind of how it went for Burrow in the NFL. It's been quite similar anyway. After being the first overall pick in 2020, Burrow's rookie season was quite underwhelming and he basically blew his knee out, tearing his ACL, MCL and damaging his PCL and meniscus. Those sound like pretty important pieces of one's knee.
Burrow simply responded by going to the Super Bowl the following season and nearly doing so again in 2022 after losing a very close game to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.
So yeah, Joe Burrow is built different.
Burrow is overall in the neighborhood of a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady play style. BUT Burrow also possesses an Aaron Rodgers-ish level of mobility. Burrow is a unique player.
Burrow has average, very usable mobility. Middle of the road arm strength, very good accuracy. He's a murderer in the pocket and has outstanding football IQ. He's clutch.
I think he is on his way to becoming a great. Combining his college career and his last two seasons, he's already a legend in many ways and his career is just getting started really. He's completely turned the Bengals around and has actually already broken many franchise records.
Burrow is just that guy and he might top this list one day soon.
This is a hilarious comedy type of interview with Burrow and Barstool's always funny Caleb Pressley.
Recently, Burrow is dealing with a calf injury and he will be out a few weeks. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
