Ryan Tannehill comes in at #11 in my QB rankings.
Ryan Tannehill has turned his career around since joining the Titans in 2019. As much as I have questioned Tannehill over the years, it's undeniable how positive he's been for the franchise. A real breath of fresh air.
Tannehill was drafted by the Dolphins with the 8th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He stayed with the Dolphins until 2018. He was mostly a .500 quarterback while there, although in 2016 he practically led the Dolphins to the playoffs and an 8-5 record before getting injured late that season. The Dolphins did make the playoffs but were handled pretty easily without Tannehill.
In 2019 Tannehill was traded to the Titans, and it seems like Tannehill has been a new QB ever since.

Tannehill has played in 31 less games with the Titans (57) than he has with the Dolphins (88). Let's compare some of his numbers with the two franchises.
| 57 Games w/Titans | Tannehill | 88 Games w/Dolphins |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | Playoff Appearances | 1 |
| 2 | Playoff Wins | 0 |
| 2 | Division Titles | 0 |
| 36 | Reg. Season Wins | 42 |
| 13 | Game Winning Drives | 13 |
| 1 | Pro Bowls | 0 |
| 20 | Rushing Touchdowns | 6 |
| 81 | First Downs via Rushing | 74 |
| 66.9 | Completion % | 62.8 |
| 100.5 | Quarterback Rating | 87 |
The Titans have gotten the better version of Ryan Tannehill than the Dolphins did, by far. It's probably a mix of Tannehill getting better later in his career through hard work and natural improvement and the Titans coaching staff/roster. I'm just glad it has happened, period. Tannehill is similar to Kirk Cousins but a more athletic, mobile version.
With DeAndre Hopkins added to the team, and other positive roster improvements, I believe Tannehill is set up for a great season.
Before Tannehill and a lot of players went down with an injury in 2022, the Titans were 7-3. Injuries were a major factor last season and the Titans STILL were a drive away from making the playoffs.
Tannehill needs 377 passing yards to move into fifth in Titans franchise history for passing yards. He needs 4,034 to move into fourth.
Tannehill needs 8 passing touchdowns to move into 4th place in Titans franchise history for passing touchdowns.
I hope Tannehill has his best season yet. Totally unbiased of course. LOL!!
