Dak Prescott just enters my top ten!
Dak is a quarterback that doesn't wow me in a single category, but he's very well rounded. No glaring weakness in my opinion.
He is on the Cowboys, a franchise that always get a lot of coverage in sports media, and so the starting quarterback gets a lot of attention as well. So, there's a lot of opinions on Dak, both good and bad. I feel like he can frequently go underrated or overrated if that makes sense.
I tend to believe that he's overall underrated, but just slightly. He's a competitive, fairly athletic game manager. He wins a lot of games. Good arm strength.
If the Cowboys can continue to build around Dak well, they could do a lot of damage in the playoffs soon. Dak can't do it alone. The NFC is gonna be wild next season. Everyone will play the Eagles super tough all season long, Tom Brady is gone. The Cowboys could be a darkhorse team in 2023. Dak just needs to stay healthy which has been a bit challenging for him the past few seasons.
Dak has an impressive 61-36 record as a starting QB, has won a few playoff games, was Rookie of the Year in 2016, has been to two Pro Bowls and he's still just 30. He's also just a few yards shy of passing for 25,000 yards in his career.
Some people are quick to criticize Dak, but if you stop and think, there's really not a lot of QBs that are better than Dak overall. Dak just has to stay healthy and continue to try and improve. Be a bit more clutch. I suppose in a way top ten is elite, but I still need to see more to truly see him there. He's insanely close though.
It is a very interesting debate.
