Coming in at number 24 in my QB rankings for the 2023 season, is Chicago Bears' QB Justin Fields.
Justin is a third year QB, and he comes in pretty low on my list but he does do a lot of things well and I think he can get better. He is a great athlete. He made many insane runs in 2022 that will go down in NFL history quite frankly.
He is a tremendous athlete and runner and I love watching him play but I don't think he's a very good passer from the pocket at the moment. There's not a great balance between his skills as a QB overall through two seasons.
Fields ran for over 1,100 yards last season which is great, but he also passed for less than 2,300 yards. I'd prefer my QB be able to actually pass the ball to receivers. In addition to those interesting stats, Fields is 5-20 as a starter in his first two seasons.
There's a lot of good with Fields, but also a fair bit of bad. It's definitely hard to rank him, but at this point in time I would take a lot of other QBs before I'd take Fields. His running ability can be lethal but that does not seem sustainable, especially in a seventeen game season year in and year out.
He has great potential I will give him that! I'll be curious to see how he improves in 2023.
