Why the localteam?
Here at Sportstalksocial we mostly share stories or news about the biggest sporting events happening around the globe right now. I just thought it would be fun to see some stories about the teams that actually should be closest to our heart, the local team you grow up with.
My localteam is like many other out there. A small club from a small village out in the countryside. It had it's shiny period back in the 50-60s when they actually reach the second highest league in Sweden. When I grew up there wasn't much else to do in the summer else then football, so it was kinda natural for me to join the team with the rest of my friends.
We didn't have any special resources since the club was so small, we didn't have so many players to choose from and as in many other small clubs we had a parent as a coach.
We were a terrible team, we lost basically all games and hardly never scored any goals. But at that time it didn't matter to much since we always got a snack after the games by one of the players parents.
When I got older I reach the first-squad, I was 14 at that time and was so nervous. We had people of all ages in the team, from 14 up to 45. We had our captain that was the big star of the club, a scottish goalscorer who really should have played in a higher league if he had the ambition.
We were playing in the swedish 6th tier of football and no near any proffesional status.
Hope some of you will also share this some stories of your home teams and if you do, tag my name in them so I can ready about them!
