Hello community, today I bring you a summary of the last game of Miramar United FC in the most recent day in the Playa Soccer League (LFP), in its preseason phase, developed in Havana Cuba for more than 10 years.
The match was presented a priori as a pure formality for the team dressed in red, due to the marked inferiority of their opponent, Finlay FC, who is at the bottom of the table, with only 4 goals scored and a whopping 50 goals conceded.
The game started with the Miramar team playing a well-defined 4-3-3 formation, with two wide open wingers and a midfield made up of two inside midfielders and a playmaker sweeping behind them. The Whites (Finlay FC) came out with a classic 4-4-2.
Everything went according to plan, Miramar United with possession and Finlay withstanding the onslaught of their opponents. After Miramar lost the ball on the left flank, Finlay counterattacked and, after a bad positioning of the red defense, their goalkeeper brought down the opposing striker. The referee did not hesitate and pointed to the penalty spot and showed a yellow card for the goalkeeper. Finlay FC did not miss their chance to take the lead, and their captain shot from 11 meters, low and tight to the goalkeeper's left post, 1-0 and out of the center.
United continued in their work, total control of possession and a constant siege of the opponent's goal. The referee called two dubious offside in favor of the Whites, which provoked the Reds' bench to complain, as well as the few fans present. In short, both teams went to the break with the score 1-0 in favor of Finlay FC.
For the second half, the red and red DT made changes in their formation and at the same time gave entry to several players with the intention of tying the match and, why not? To get ahead. This time they went with a 4-4-2 formation, with two center midfielders, two wide midfielders and two strikers up front, one of them playing as a striker. On the other hand, the Finlay FC DT also changed his team, but in this case he only made changes of players.
The last 40 minutes had the same tone, Finlay defending their 3 points with tooth and nail and Miramar desperate. The changes in the reds had no effect, although they did have clear opportunities that their strikers failed to take advantage of. With 15 minutes to go, the United manager changed his team again, switching back to a 4-3-3 formation and bringing in fresh players. The changes seemed to put the game back on track, or at least they did. With 10 minutes to go, Miramar United had a free kick near the box that was excellently taken, with a direct shot on goal, but the white goalkeeper was able to tip it away for a corner. With 3 minutes to go, as a result of a fumble, a symptom of desperation, the ball stung in front of the goalkeeper of the white team and made a strange move that made it go straight to goal, the striker in his ambition to score the goal pushed it practically on the line. Everyone ran to celebrate and when they looked at the referee on the line, he had his flag raised as if he were marking an illegal position. Once again, there were complaints from the fans, as well as from the red bench. At the end of the 90 minutes the referee pointed to the center of the field and the match was over.
Great victory for Finlay FC who knew how to hold their result, thus winning their first victory in the preseason in the LFP and unexpected defeat for a team that came from a comfortable victory in the previous day and raising their game compared to previous days.
