Club Brugge vs Racing Genk
So Club Brugge became Champion just a couple of days ago which was followed by some big partying and drinking. Genk became 2nd having that position locked making this into a friendly match with nothing really to play for. Club Brugge announced that Mignolet & Lang won't be in the team because of minor injuries while Genk will be complete. I do expect decompression from Club Brugge who went through these playoffs with a lot of nerves never really playing their best game. Combined with the days celebrating the championship this should highly increase the chance of this being a letdown spot for them. Genk has been good during the playoffs with their excellent offense who will start today. They had extra recovery time and no big party and should be motivated more to beat the champion. I already took 2 small bets on
Racing Genk +0.5 @ 1.917 and
Racing Genk Team Total Over 1.25 @ 1.87 adding some to it on Genk +0.5 @ 1.96 after reading the news both Lang and Mignolet won't play. The odds by now have increased to 2.06 which makes me rather cautious as the market is rarely wrong in these situations. I will see how it goes and not hesitate to put some of the stake safe if possible.
Antwerp vs Anderlecht
So Anderlecht pulled a last-second draw against Club Brugge making it so that Antwerp needs to win in order to take the 3rd spot. In the reverse match, Antwerp played a really good match with an excellent Mbokani who basically marked this match in his book scoring 4 goals. Both teams haven't taken a win yet during these playoffs and this especially cuts short on the performance of Antwerp who deserved more. Anderlecht has been playing quite solid in defense but still got quite a couple goals against during these playoffs. I expect them to once again start with a focus on defense. Antwerp has shown to both be able to lock things down in the 0-0 result against Club Brugge and be really vulnerable in defense in the 4-0 match against Genk. I don't see the difference between both teams being that big that Antwerp should be the underdog. Since I don't see them without a chance to win especially if Mbokani again has one of his days while a draw is enough for Anderlecht which made me take a small position on
Antwerp +0.5 @ 1.805 more as a trading position with an option for a late over in case the score is at a draw. I also like the Antwerp team total Over 1 but will wait to see what the match brings first before getting more in.
