We’ve been practicing for 5 weeks.
We’ve skipped 2 of those weeks though.
Little league basketball is in full swing and we had our first game Saturday morning. I’m officially 1 and 0 as a coach.
This is my first year, coaching my son. I just got my team randomly assigned. I didn’t know the kids on it. My son doesn’t know any of the kids and most of the other kids don’t know any other kids. Most of the dads have their teams already picked out. I thought we would be in big trouble, but we pulled our first win out in Saturday.
I spend almost all practice working on rebounding. Kids in the 4th grade in rec leagues are horrible and shooting. So if the kids learn to rebound we get 2-3x more shots than the other team. Then it’s just math.
My strategy worked for week one. So tonight for practice I’m going to work on the same thing. Work on this till we lose.
getting a bunch of 4th graders to listen is a challenge.
Anyone else coaching youth sports right now?
