When could you play this college football schedule and somehow end up in the top 15?
The answer is: during the pandemic.
As much as I am a fan of BYU, the rankings this year is a total joke. The fact that you still have 0-0 teams ranked is utter ridiculousness.
After the initial withdrawal, you have conferences like Pac-12 coming back. I guess they couldn't stay away from the sports revenues. After all, the revenues do support other collegiate sports within their schools.
In terms of College Football Playoff, reentering a canceled season makes no sense. What are you gonna do with a 7-game season? Are you hoping the likes in ACC, SEC, and Big-12 won't have a better chance to win the bid? They are playing at least 10 games there.
If you think sports analysts were jokes before, now is when they are even bigger jokes.
Check it out guys! The Ohio State that hasn't even restarted their season is gonna take it all this year! Why is BYU even in that discussion? Are they gonna repeat another 1984 championship? You know, handed the title because they happened to be the only undefeated team in the country? Well, I guess they won't get a titled handed to them, but they would at least qualify for a New Year's Bowl.
I'm also a Penn State fan, so seeing them being on that list with a reduced season looks funny to me. But then again, these predictions are only hype makers. And I doubt people would care too much about it since we have a train wreck of an election instead.
It would be no surprise to me if Biden wins the election, the rest of the season and bowl games won't happen. This year's sports are nothing worth watching, but I guess many folks differ in that opinion.
