Giorgio Chiellini, the Juventus defender, revealed that he had refused earlier, to transfer to Arsenal and Inter Milan, when he was playing with Livorno.
"I am talking after the time has passed. I was foolish to refuse the offer to move to Arsenal 20 years ago," Chiellini said, in remarks, most notably the Italian site Football.
"I was 16 years old and playing in the Italian third division, then I received a huge offer of just under 200 million Italian liras," he added.
"Approval of this offer meant that I am on my way to betray Livorno Club," he added.
"One year, Inter officials called me on January 31, asking me to sign to move to them, but I refused. I was in my fourth year of high school, and I didn't want to go anywhere."
