The FA Cup final was played today at Wembley Stadium, which can hold 90,000 fans, it didn't look completely full to me, so I would say 80,000 people went to the stadium. Manchester City was facing Manchester United, and based on the last few years results City were the clear favorites.
And City scored on the 12th second of the game, a very good volley by Ilkay Gundogan, de Gea had no chance with this shot. After this City had nearly complete possession for long periods of the first half except for a few United incursions, until the referee gave United a penalty based on a Grealish handball. This penalty leaves me flabbergasted, just on Wednesday's Europa League final, Roma was denied a penalty against Sevilla which was at least as evident as this one.
Anyway Bruno Fernandez scored the penalty so the teams started the second half on equal standing. This remained so for about 6 minutes when Gundogan sent another volley that went into the Unitad net. This one was not quite as good as the first goal, and to me it went in only because de Gea's sight was blocked by his defenders and did not see the ball until it was out of his reach.
After this City again pretty much had the ball, and United hardly had any chances until the last couple of minutes when Garnacho could well have scored a goal. I do think City deserved the title, as even though both had to fight hard to get to the final, City, as expected were the better team. still United did look as a strong team, unfortunately City were just too good.
