Here is something funny for you: I am a German that has no interest in soccer. Whenever a big game is on or, like now, the world cup, I actually profit by covering shifts of others so they can watch the games. That way I can call in the favor whenever I need to change my shift.
Anyway, since I usually do not pay much attention to soccer I have no clue who is a good player. Sure, I can take a hint when I hear coworkers talk about it and every now and then a name sounds familiar. But that's about it.
Thanks to , who posted about his participation I found out about the Hive World Cup Fantasy League. I have no stake in soccer nor any clue so I thought
Ah what the heck, it will be fun!
Why not give it a try?
So I followed the instructions on how to join this thing and ended up with the following team:
I picked Neuer, Kimmich and Mueller from the German team since their names sounded familiar and a little patriotism will not hurt me, right? (For some strange reason FIFA shows Manuel Neuer's first name instead of last)
I read about Kane in a posting by and he seemed to know what he was doing. Sorry for copying you, mate, but I have no other knowledge to form a team otherwise (besides relying on a random pick).
And that's how the rest came together. Except for Pepe, that one also sounded familiar.
All in all I am excited to be here and participate. While on that hype I also decided to join in on the HiveBuzz World Cup Contest.
I will be happy for every point I get and since I don't know what I'm doing I won't be disappointed for any point I miss. You know: Ignorance is a bliss.
For those of you who know what you are doing: May the best be the winner.
For those of you who are more like me in this: Let's share the hope and luck together.
For all of us: Let's have some fun. For me the world cup just got way more interesting.
Thank you very much for reading, I hope you wish me luck (cause that is all I have for this).
