Uruguayan Diego Forlan, former Manchester United and Atletico Madrid striker, confirmed that Barcelona was wrong when he allowed Luis Suarez to move to the Rojiblancos.
Barcelona decided to terminate the contract of its Uruguayan striker, Luis Suarez, last summer, due to the lack of his services, as he moved to Atlético de Madrid and led the team to lead the La Liga competition, and is at the top of the scorers' list.
Forlan said in statements carried by the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo": "They have to ask themselves, why was such a decision taken."
He added: "Even those who do not know anything about football know that Suarez is a great goalscorer, and it is logical that he is performing well in Atletico."
As for Sergio Ramos, the captain of Real Madrid, whose contract with his club expires at the end of this season, and there are disagreements about the renewal, Forlan believes that a renewal for him is necessary.
He said: "Real Madrid should renew him, it would be a shame for a player like him to move to another place, he is a player who makes the difference, and Real Madrid should not commit Barcelona's mistake with Luis Suarez, but it is negotiations and both parties must agree."
He concluded: "It is important that you have a player like Ramos, Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi."
