'Cause me, I've been inlove with football since i was in high school.
In our school, i was a varsity player of futsal as my sport. You might wonder what does futsal mean. It refers to a sport kind of similar to football, but it is played indoor. Unlike football that has 11 players, futsal can only be played by few players. It could be 5 vs 5 or 6vs 6. Futsal contains of one goal keeper, two defense player, one on the right and one on the left, and also, two forward positions. It is a sport mostly played by women, although nowadays, men do participate now.
Let's get back to my journey as a student-athlete and how it went until now...
My journey started when i was in my 8th grade. There was this teacher who is also a coach who convinced me to join the said sport. At first, i was hesitant. I was hesitant because i know that my parents won't let me participate in a sport that will surely hurt me physically.
Before i entered futsal, my mindset at first was different. Why is it different? Well, it's because me and my friends was astonished by the figures of all athlete with their corresponding sports. Volleyball, Taekwondo, Lawn tennis, Basketball, and many more. Athletic bodies of those varsity players we've seen was so phenomenal for us that time. So we wondered, 'what if we try all those sports to experience their trainings to have those body and after that, we would choose one to stick and play until last school year'. Yep, that was my mindset before i entered futsal.
But then i was wrong..
It was totally the opposite of what i thought it would be.

As my training in futsal had begun and it was terribly hard. Jogging inside the gymanasium for twenty-minutes, and another jogging up and down on the stairs of the gym for twenty-minuted as well. My legs was really tired that i feel like i would collapse from any moment.

Drills are also taught and must be executed in the given time of our coach. Coach D is one of my coach when i was in high school. He was my Physical Education or P.E. teacher and the one who convinced me participate in futsal. He was also the coach of the team. My other coach was coach Greg, he was the happy go lucky coach, but wild when mad. He always smile and laugh at us, but when he saw us execute the drills poorly or play inside the court without focus and energy, he would grab a chair and throw it at the side, and curse at the same time. He was scary when he's mad, but ofcourse, we know that he was doing it because we did wrong. That's normal in my sport. Despite of all those things, i still love them both. 'Cause they were the ones' who encouraged me and boost my confidence as an athlete and as a person, and i thank them for that.
After i graduated on my high school, i still continued my sport, but this time, it's a little bit challenging. I joined a football team. Because of my passion and love on football, i coudn't just let it go easily, because my body is searching for it. Yes, my body is longing for it.
When pandemic arises, my football journey had stopped because of social distancing, Covid-19 virus that spreads, I can't go outside because of the risk and all, so i was forced to stopped. It was hard, really hard. My body was aching so bad, i developed anxiety and my body was a little bit weakening. Since football hads been my source of energy that keeps my body in shape, because of the pandemic, i was a little bit changed, physically, emotionally and mentally.
But..
There's hope in every situation..
When pandemic slowly dissolved, i started to play football again. I joined a team that really helped me, physically, emotionally and mentally. They were the people who became my friends and somehow my family.

Last year, before I stepped up into second year, i decided to play one lasy tournament, or some kind of like a 'liga' in our term. My team and I travelled from Bacolod to San Carlos City just to participate. San Carlos City is a beautiful place with so many fields we can play. We stayed there for two days and 1 night. It was an awesome place, it was very clean and the people there are so friendly.
The day of our game begins..
We battled with different teams inside a mini field that has an artificial grass and tall rails surrounding in it. It was such a good experince to be able to play with other teams again.

I felt so happy that day. After that tournament i joined, i stopped for the meantime. I love football, but i have different priorities too. I have to focus on my studies since I'm already in college and not in high school. I have to set aside my passion on football and substitute it with myself first.
Moreover, i won't hesitate to participate in a football or futsal sport if it is for our school.
So, this is the end of me day blog..
Thank you for your time and have a beautiful day ahead.
