WHAT IS FPL?
It's another suitable time to talk about football and most importantly that of the European world but today, I'll be sharing some personal experiences and occurrences within my FPL space.
FPL (Fantasy Premier League) is something I've been posting about for so long around here but it seems many people don't even know what's about so I would love to make some explanations today. FPL is a platform made for football lovers and most importantly fans of the English Premier league.
For one to operate on FPL, one must firstly be a fan of football and has to be a follower of almost all the activities within and around the EPL. On FPL, what you can do or would be allowed to do is to create a fantasy team for yourself by signing at most 3 players from any team in the EPL.
One would be given a virtual amount of £100 to sign 15 players having 11 active players and 4 on the bench. One gets to earn points according to the performances and the activities of the players signed on weekly basis, it sounds like a fun thing right? Well, there's more to it as there are many valuable prizes that can be won by participating and earning massive points on weekly basis. There's definitely much to know about if you're actually hearing about this for the first time but you can learn much more by using the link here.
MY FPL EXPERIENCE FOR GAME WEEK 37.
The EPL season 2020/2021 is coming to an end this weekend and my experiences and results last week wasn't that terrible but fair enough. I subscribed to some cash prize leagues but then it didn't really work well for me this season but I learnt so much that would definitely help me grow and perform better next season but let's see what actually occurred through my squad last weekend.
It's funny but true, I didn't take my squad so serious last weekend and having Bamford as my captain for last weekend was actually a beautiful mistake and it paid out beautifully. Bamford earned a total of 12 points and for the fact that he was my captain make it double and I was able to secure a whooping sum of 24 points from him alone. Without much explanations, his performance and contributions last weekend actually blessed by team. I had a total of 61 points and taking off his 24 points out for the 61 shows how low many others actually performed but with his result, it was still all good!
Starting from my goalkeeper, I didn't really expect much from Martinez (Aston Villa's Goalkeeper) knowing fully well that his team would be visiting Tottenham, and I was totally amazed to see them win at Tottenham's territory last night but then Martinez wasn't able to keep a clean sheet but he conceded just one goal and made 5 crucial saves which earned him 3 FPL points.
There wasn't so much from my defense but just as Martinez has been the best goalkeeper for his price in the FPL this season as also Dallas has been one of the best defenders for his price in the EPL this season also. Last weekend, he was able to help his team in an away win at Southampton with a clean sheet score of 0 - 2. He ought to have score 6 FPL points but the got a - 1 for picking up a yellow card during the match against Southampton. Aside for and from Dallas' result, there was nothing more interesting from my other defenders (Castagne and James).
For my midfield, I actually trusted my midfielders so much during the weekend and I thought I was going to earn so much points from them and I also intentionally benched Bruno Fernandes of Manchester but due to the fact that Van Aanholt of Crystal Palace couldn't play last weekend and he was automatically replaced with Bruno Fernandes who was able to provide an assist to a goal for Manchester United last week which earned him 4 FPL points. Aside from the auto substitute "Bruno" who tried to raise 4 FPL points, Lingard of Westham also performed wonderfully well by securing an assist during Westham's match against West Brom yesterday. Lingard also secured 2 FPL bonus points which accumulated his total points to 7 which was quite fair and the best result form my midfield.
Of the full results, my two attackers did so well an impressive. They built my total score points with their wonderful performances and I am so glad I captained Bamford.
Even though my active squad didn't get to perform so spectacular, I am still happy I had them instead of my bench. Vardy who is a wonderful and big player of Leicester City, for some personal reasons, I had to bench him and luckily for me, he didn't perform and the choices I made (Bamford and Watkins) did wonderfully well than Vardy did. Having Vardy play against Chelsea, we all know the match was a big one even before the match started at all but personally, I felt it wasn't going to be a match with much goals though there were three goals but then, Vardy couldn't contribute to the 1 Leicester City had.
I believed so much in Martinez and that was why I had him ahead of Areola. And for Shaw, I knew it was likely for United to joke with the match and not secure a clean sheet result so I benched him to have James of Chelsea who also didn't get to do much in the match against Leicester City but scored more points than Shaw by +1.
The final matches for the EPL season 2020/2021 comes up in few days and I am quite sure there'll be some shocking performances and results but then, I can't wait to see them all!
