Hello everyone!
I am starting a series of posts about cricket specially about Pakistan and Asian cricket.
Todays I am starting with Top Pakistani Batsmen of the 1980s based on their performances and stats.
The criteria i have set for this decade is a minimum of 60 innings over the decade with a minimum of 2000 runs and 35 average. This is because very less cricket was played in 1980s.
Now if we look at the different contenders for top 3 batsmen, there are 5 contenders for the top 3 position.
JAVED MIANDAD:
Talking about cricket of 1980s and not mentioning Javed Miandad would be unfair. If we look at his stats during this decade, he has scored a total 5642 runs in 110 innings at an astonishing average of 54.7 with 16 hundreds and 26 fifties to his name. Also during this time his average when Pakistan win the match is 68 which is outstanding.MUDASSAR NAZAR
The second name on the list is mudassar nazar who has scored 3328 runs in 90 innings at an average of 40 with 8 hundreds and 14 fifties. His average in matches which Pakistan won is 58.SALEEM MALIK
Third name on the list is saleem malik who scored 2642 runs in 77 innings at an average of 41 with 7 hundreds and 14 fifties. His average in winning cause is 42.IMRAN KHAN
Imran khan is 4th on the list with 2430 runs in 71 innings at an average of 44 with 5 hundreds and 13 fifties. His average in Pakistan winning the match is 39.MOHSIN KHAN
The last contender is Mohsin khan who during the said period jas played 69 innings and having scored 2427 runs at an average of 38 with 7 hundreds and 9 fifties. His average in winning cause is 50.
Looking at stats and performance in winning the match, the first 2 names easily pick themselves up. For the 3rd position I am going with Mohsin khan.
So here is my top 3
- JAVED MIANDAD
- MUDASSAR NAZAR
- MOHSIN KHAN
