Two of the teams with the most favoritism before the start of the Major League season, the San Diego Padres and the New York Mets, are below expectations in their leagues.
-The San Diego Padres: A great team made up of Fernando Tatis Jr, Juan Soto, Manny Machado, Xander Bogaerts and Nelson Cruz as the great offensive players, they have not been able to demonstrate their great favoritism in the West of the league throughout the season National League and as of today they have a record of 37 wins, 41 losses, located in 4th place, 9.5 games behind the first place Arizona Dbacks, 7 games behind the San Francisco Giants and 6.5 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers.
What is happening to them? The pressure that this nucleus of Dominican players have seems to be the main cause that this team still does not work as expected. A team that hasn't hit consistently, that when it hits the pitch doesn't respond and when it doesn't hit, the pitch falls off completely. Not to mention the relay that does not hold an advantage. If they don't wake up at this point in the campaign, they will be left very early without a chance of reaching the playoffs. Team and talent have to resurface according to my point of view and that of many other analysts. Being eliminated from the playoffs is a resounding failure for the San Diego Padres.
-The New York Mets: The ninth of the Mets, the truth is that it is surprising how bad the MLB season has been, a team that for me was among the favorites before starting the season that has a roster rich in talent and quality with players like Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, Tommy Pha, Jeff McNeil. Brett Baty, Omar Narvaez and pitchers like Carlos Carrasco, Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, among many others, it's hard to believe how bad they are in the National League East, 15 games behind first place occupied by the Atlanta Braves. 9 games behind the Miami Marlins and 5 games behind the Philadelphia Phillies. They are in the quarterfinals with a negative record of 35 wins and 42 victories (7 games under .500).
What is happening to them? You really can't believe the Mets, they are a great team by any measure, ultra favorites before the start of the season and to this day it is another great failure in the MLB. You can't play such a bad ball with a team made up of so many stars. It seems difficult for them to get up, even more so seeing how the Atlanta Braves with a 50-27 record and the Miami Marlins with a 45-34 record are practically escaped in the position table to be able to opt for a place in the playoffs either first or a hypothetical wild card that today looks very far. Not even the biggest Mets fan would think they'd be able to pull off a comeback that way the way they're playing baseball.

It is my first publication in this Sports Talk Social community, I write frequently in the prestigious Spanish-speaking community of FullDeportes and I wanted to write in this community where the majority is English-speaking, which have a different approach because it is about their MLB baseball and of course thus know their concerns. Can any of the 2 teams qualify? I think not friends. I invite you to this sports debate in my post and to value my content that I wrote with great affection. ❤️☺️⚾
