As an Arsenal fan , it is the hope that kills. How long is "progress" sufficient?
15 years ago, Wenger was building for the future with teens like Walcott, Denilson, Alex Song etc .Arsenal have been surpassed by Chelsea and Man City since then, soon Newcastle too. Meanwhile Arsenal still talks about building on progress. It's the hope that certainly kills
If you are conversant with my posts regarding Arsenal you would agree with the fact of how I constantly point out the team being a sucker for mediocrity especially when it comes to times it mattered the most.
I feel what Arsenal do so well is constantly shaming her fans . I mean it will be an extreme sport explaining to my kids how my dear team bottled an 8 point lead. Three consecutive draws followed by a loss. The worst actually happened after all these.
Fast forward to yesterday's game when we had to go all in or have nothing . Regrettably the team settled for the latter. It's certainly all over now. We were totally outplayed by a team that just lost 1-5 to Everton.A huge loss to a team that knocked us out at the same Emirates stadium in the Carabao cup is totally not acceptable.
A horribly lacklustre, passion-devoid, spiritless, pathetic performance that cements an inexplicably dismal run-in to a season which promised so much.
Let's call a spade a spade, we bottled the league due to inexperience and lack of character.
Ooh! Please don't tell me we had a good season ! . Finishing second trophyless, please spare me . If Leicester could win the league by just doing the needful I don't see why Arsenal can't do the same . Talmabout they being the pride of London. Lol! . The team and management really need to fix up . The winning mentality and character is no doubt absent .
Take a look a Kiwor ! He was fouled , a very soft one at that and he just took his eyes off the ball . You already know what happens next . I mean how do you explain that ? Honestly my head bangs trying to rack my brain deciphering what was going through his mind .
Must we always concede cheap and shitty goals everytime ?! What on earth was Trossard thinking , when he made that blunder?? For God's sake there was no pressure on him !
Honestly ! We should have just stuck to our traditional top 4 chase we are at least used to . Like why would you introduce we the fans to a lifestyle the team can't afford??
What a season honestly, I just wonder if we would get this opportunity again in seasons to come. The boys really need to be men. They can't be this mediocre playing at the CL next season . It's the emotions Henry warned about. Sometimes put those aside, play football and win games.
Over the last few weeks Arteta and the players have put themselves under significant pressure for next season. Huge expectations for next year. Hope they can live up to them.
