My cart hasn't been rolling for several weeks now because I haven't been able to buy a new battery, so I decided to make some adjustments and improvements that don't require expenses and that I can do progressively until I can buy the battery. So in recent days I decided to clean a little the gas tank, I did not want to disassemble it as it should be to clean it thoroughly, I will simply clean it a little with the help of rags and brushes.
Aprovecho para limpiar el tanque de gasolina
Mi carrito ya lleva varias semanas sin rodar porque aun no he podido comprar una nueva batería, así que me propuse hacerle algunos ajustes y mejoras que no requieran de gastos y que puedo hacer de forma progresiva. Fue así como en días recientes me propuse limpiar un poco el tanque de la gasolina, no quise bajarlo como debería ser para limpiarlo a fondo, simplemente lo limpiaré un poco con la ayuda de trapos y cepillos.
Getting gasoline out of a car without a battery is a challenge, I usually remove the end of the hose that goes to the injector flute, bypass the contacts of the pump relay and voila! I get the gasoline quickly, because the "traditional" way of placing a hose through the mouth of the tank to place it, is almost impossible because of all the curves that has the conduit to the tank. Another way is with a recycled pump to connect it to a hose and place it inside the tank, but what do you think, I can't because I don't have a battery to feed it with current, so I had to take it out with a container through the hole of the pump, doing my best not to be charged with static on my hands.
Sacar la gasolina de un carro sin bateria es todo un desafío, normalmente retiro el extremo de la manguera que va a la flauta de inyectores, puenteo los contactos del relé de la bomba y ¡voilà! obtengo rápidamente la gasolina, porque de la forma "tradicional" de colocar una manguera por la boca del tanque para colocarla, es casi que imposible por todas las curvas que tiene el conducto hasta el tanque. Otra manera es con una bomba reciclada conectarla a una manguera y colocarla dentro del tanque, pero que creen, no puedo porque no tengo una batería para alimentarla con corriente, así que tuve que con un recipiente sacarla por el orificio de la bomba, haciendo todo lo posible por no estar cargado con estática en mis manos.
After several minutes removing the gasoline, I clearly noticed that a cleaning was necessary, it is also a challenge to take a picture inside the tank with the phone, the static with our hands and the different signals that emit are a danger, and although I put it in airplane mode and turn off all other signals, it is still a risk, however here you can notice how dirty it looks. Immediately with the help of a cloth I started to pick up the dirt and sediments, taking advantage of the little gasoline that was still left, as far as my arm could reach, then I left the hole open to let the rest of the gasoline evaporate.
Luego de varios minutos sacando la gasolina, note claramente que era necesaria una limpieza, es un desafío también tomar foto dentro del tanque con el teléfono, la estática con nuestras manos y las distintas señales que emiten son un peligro, y aunque lo coloque en modo avión y apague toda otra señal no deja de ser un riego, sin embargo acá pueden notar un poco lo sucio que se ve. De Inmediato con la ayuda de un paño empecé a recoger la suciedad y los sedimentos, aprovechando la poca gasolina que aún le quedaba, hasta donde el brazo me alcanzaba, después deje abierto el orificio para dejar evaporar el resto de la gasolina.

Once dry, with the help of brushes, rags and some water, I removed as much as I could from the bottom of the tank, some of the dirt was already well adhered to the walls of the tank, even though I tried to remove it with a wire brush, but in general terms there was a lot that I removed that will guarantee for several months the correct operation of the pump. It is something that in my country we must do frequently because of the quality of gasoline, I have already told you enough about it, but it has become a habit and many of us already seem to be experts in this, we disassemble a gas pump in 5 minutes or less, and in less than 1 hour we do maintenance, thanks to the many times we repeat the process.
Ya seco, con la ayuda de cepillos, trapos y algo de agua, retire lo mas que pude del fondo del tanque, algunas capaz de suciedad ya están bien adheridas a las paredes del tanque, por mas que trate de quitarlas con cepillo de alambre, pero en líneas generales fue mucho lo que quite que garantizara por varios meses el correcto funcionamiento de la bomba. Es algo que en mi país debemos hacer con frecuencia por la calidad de la gasolina, ya de eso les he contado bastante, pero se ha hecho costumbre y muchos ya parecemos expertos en esto, desmontamos una bomba de gasolina en 5 minutos o menos, y en menos de 1 hora le hacemos mantenimiento, gracias a las muchas veces que repetimos el proceso.
