Well at my meeting this time, I want to share a little experience for all of you about excavator maintenance that you can do yourself, hopefully our discussion this time is useful for all of us here.
Excavators or other heavy equipment, of course, must always be maintained so that they always support the work we do, and for maintenance such as excavators, they have a schedule or operating hours for the equipment, when it is time to require maintenance.
Change hydraulic oil every 2500 working hours.
For hydraulic oil in the excavator, it is best to change it at the latest after 2500 hours of excavator operation.
The steps you can take in changing the hydraulic oil on the excavator are as follows. First, place the prepared container right under the oil drain so that the dirty oil doesn't splatter everywhere. Next, start removing the bolts on the engine oil drain or oil fan using the keys that you have prepared before, you can see the location of the bolts in the picture that I will show. After doing this, continue to open the cover for the oil filling so that the oil goes down faster and we fill in the new oil. While waiting for all the dirty oil to come out, because the oil filter is in the down position, you can open the oil filter so it doesn't have to go under the engine again later.
To make it easier to fill the oil, in the picture you can see the oil in plastic packaging, this I intentionally did to make it easier for me to fill the oil because this is a pretty good way when we are in the field with limited tools in maintaining the excavator.
After we fill the hydraulic oil, then put the bolt back in its original place, and now we will try to replace the oil filter.
Change oil filter every 500 hours.
For maintenance or change the oil filter on the excavator is after 500 hours of operation, in contrast to hydraulic oil which must be replaced or filled every 250 hours.
In every performance of a machine, of course, it is very dependent on each other so that the machine can work optimally, one of which is the filter has a limited working ability as well, so when replacing the filter, you must be very careful and must pay attention to cleanliness, why do I say that, because There is even a little dirt that cannot be filtered out, so the consequences can be very fatal, namely damage to existing components in the excavator.
After the oil filter located at the bottom of your engine has been replaced with a new filter, you can start the excavator to install the engine and see the change in engine sound and also do a few swings to ensure that the excavator is ready to be operated again in good condition of course.
