This is my very first HIVE post, and today I am going to take you along on my journey to install some handlebar risers on my Honda Rebel.
So first, let's have a look at what the victim errr patient looks like in stock form.

This trim plate needs to come off, which is secured by 5mm hex bolts.
So after removing the trim plate we can get to the bolts that hold the dash assembly in place.
Remove the screws (also 5mm hex) holding the dash:
We need the dash to be able to swivel out of the way so we have to disconnect the wiring clip here that lives under the protective rubber boot, which keeps out moisture:
Disconnected:
And swiveled, so that we can remove the 4 6mm bolts for the handlebar clamps:
You guys don't use your trash can as a work bench??? Hmm, weird...
Now move the handlebar out of the way:
To make room for these guys:

And from above (don't tell the lady of the house I am using the "good" towels to protect the finish on the tank 😂):
Handlebar in place and getting screws re-installed (be careful here, as it is a little fiddly with the controls still mounted to the bar):

Once the bar is clamped down again we need to start reconnecting the dash...I did this too early and realized I would have to disconnect it again to mount the dash, but no big deal, I was able to reconnect it once the dash was bolted back down without issue:
And so we have the dash reinstalled:

These risers move the handlebars up by 3/4 inch and closer by about a half inch. It should make for less leaning to reach the controls, and a more comfortable ride.
Not a bad project for a warm(ish) Saturday afternoon.
