Hoy les traigo el cambio de cremallera del motor de arranque y las posteriores fallas con que se encontró. Para comenzar la camioneta al encender el arranque producía un fuerte charranqueo y no prendía. Por lo que se bajó el arranque para revisar el bendix y, para empezar estaba dañado (no profundice mucho en esto debido a que anteriormente he hecho publicaciones con cambios de bendix). Aunque no tenía partido ningún diente, pero deslizaba lo que se reemplazo y se instaló nuevamente el arranque luego para probar se encendió la camioneta y funcionó bien, pero para los siguientes encendidos volvió a presentar el mismo problema.
Esto llevo a revisar la cremallera, mi esposo comenzó a girarla para verificar que estuviera en buen estado y se pudo ver qué habían varios dientes desgastados lo que lo llevo a desinstalar la caja de cambios completamente, y se pudo ver con más detalle que la cremallera tenía mucho desgaste en los dientes. De allí que por esto, se dificultaba el funcionamiento correcto del arranque.
Today I bring you the replacement of the starter motor rack and the subsequent failures it encountered. To begin with, the truck produced a loud chattering noise when the starter was turned on and would not start. So the starter was lowered to check the bendix and, to begin with, it was damaged (I didn't go too deep into this because I have previously made publications with bendix changes). Although no teeth were broken, but it was slipping so the starter was replaced and reinstalled, then to test it, the truck was turned on and it worked fine, but for the following ignitions it presented the same problem again.
This led to check the rack, my husband began to turn it to verify that it was in good condition and could see that there were several worn teeth which led him to uninstall the gearbox completely, and could be seen in more detail that the rack had a lot of wear on the teeth. This made it difficult for the starter to work properly.

Y los tornillos quedado allí en el cigüeñal para después sacar los tornillos con un alicate de presión. Esto permitió ver una fuga de aceite por la estopera del cigüeñal y así mismo se aprovechó de reemplazarla. Se colocó la nueva cremallera con los seis tornillos originales que se lograron conseguí de otro motor, se instaló la caja de cambio también se colocó el arranque y se le hicieron varias pruebas de encendido a la camioneta, logrando corregir otra falla de la camioneta.
When the screws began to loosen, the heads of the screws had lost their shape 😧, which was a terrible obstacle because this detail was not counted on. We tried to find a way to solve it, but it was getting worse and worse because they were damaged even more 😲.
So it was decided to grind the head of the screws. This made that the rack q will be free to remove it. And the bolts left there on the crankshaft to then pull the bolts out with a pair of needle nose pliers. This made it possible to see an oil leak from the crankshaft gland and so we took the opportunity to replace it. The new rack was placed with the six original screws that were obtained from another engine, the gearbox was installed, the starter was also placed and several ignition tests were made to the truck, correcting another failure of the truck.

With this work we were able to make several repairs: First the replacement of the bendix, then the rack, replacement of the crankshaft bolts and to culminate (for now) the stock.
