A few weeks ago I damaged the window air of the room, it began to freeze, at the moment I thought it was maintenance and cleaning that was missing, that was done by me and I took care of it.
My surprise was that instead of improving the situation became worse, now froze only the bottom of the evaporator which tells me my theory of mechanic is that there is a leak and the refrigerant does not reach. Complete the route.
In those days I was a little short of budget so I did not give much importance and I had to use the fan a few days 😭.
In those days of waiting to have money to solve the air conditioner I started looking for prices of new equipment similar to that and got in $ 100 which made me think that it is not worth repairing as I will spend at least 40 or 50% of what it costs new equipment and as you know new is new.
Ya va do not think I went out to the store and bought new equipment, no, I decided to activate a split air conditioner that I have installed in the room but a few years ago the light in the area would not let the air work at certain times so once it failed I had left it there without paying attention.
I decided to repair the split as it is a new equipment that exceeds $ 200 and the repair did not exceed 20 to 30% of the cost of new equipment.
Now let's go to the repair of the equipment.
My air is a 12000btu split of 220v current Hyundai brand that I have about 15 years ago and had about 5 years that did not work.
When I was damaged was because the compressor start capacitor was damaged, I replaced it but in the time it took to get the replacement leaked refrigerant gas, at that time I had no money to repair it and as I had the small air backup I did not force me to repair it.
So it was about 5 years until I was forced to repair it, I contacted a trusted specialist technician where he made an inspection and I budget maintenance, plus the refrigerant gas charge in $ 40.
When he begins to perform the work we noticed that the condenser fan would not start, he asked me to buy a capacitor as it did not look stuck or damaged, the capacitor cost me $ 2.
But the surprise was that it did not start, I had to buy a new fan motor which raised the budget a bit since it cost $25 which was not included in the budget.
They install the motor and continue with the maintenance and everything is going well.
When it comes time to charge the equipment with the refrigerant gas the technician realizes that the leak had been by the cups or nuts that tighten the pipe in the system, thank goodness he had and did not charge me because if not they added $ 10 more to the repair.
Once made the flange of the pipe with new cups with the special tool for that if you start to perform vacuum with special equipment to verify that there is no leak elsewhere.
The charge is made with refrigerant R134a and the load is approximately 1kg, the equipment to be charged is turned on connected to a pressure gauges where one of the hoses of the pressure gauge is connected to the cylinder that stores the refrigerant, as the equipment prior to this is made a vacuum to start the pressure gauge key opens and begins to consume refrigerant from the cylinder.
While this is being done the compressor is connected to an ammeter, with that is seen that the compressor does not work forced as the nameplate of the equipment says how many amps the equipment works, this is a relationship that takes the technician between the engine amps and pounds of pressure indicated by the pressure gauge.
Done all this and the equipment is optimal to operate for a long period of time, this maintenance was missing to add the insulation of the pipes but I did not do it because this air in about 3 months maximum I will move it to another room.
I already have a few days sleeping tucked with a very rich climate in my room 🎊🎊😁.

Queridos amigos espero estén todos muy bien y estén con sus carreras de preparativos decembrinos.
Hace unas semanas atrás se me daño el aire de ventana del cuarto, se comenzó a congelar, de momento pensé que era mantenimiento y limpieza que le faltaba, eso lo realizó yo y me ocupe en realizarlo.
Mi sorpresa fue que en vez de mejorar la situación se hizo peor, ahora se congelaba solo la parte abajo del evaporador lo que me dice mi teoría de mecánico es que hay una fuga y el refrigerante no alcanza. Completar el recorrido.
En esos días andaba un poco recortado de presupuesto asi que no le di mucha importancia y me tocó utilizar el ventilador unos días 😭.
En esos días de esperar tener dinero para resolver lo del aire acondicionado empece a buscar precios de equipos nuevos similares a ese y conseguí en 100$ lo que hizo pensar en que no vale la pena repararlo ya que voy a gastar por lo menos el 40 o 50% de lo que cuesta un equipo nuevo y como sabrán nuevo es nuevo.
Ya va no crean que salí a la tienda y compré un equipo nuevo, no, decidí activar un aire acondicionado split que tengo instalado en el cuarto pero hace unos años la luz de la zona no dejaba funcionar el aire en ciertas horas así que una vez que falló lo había dejado ahí sin prestarle atención.
Decidí reparar el split ya que es un equipo que nuevo pasa los 200$ y la reparación no se excedía de un 20 a 30% del costo del equipo nuevo.
Ahora sí vamos a la reparación del equipo.
Mi aire es un split de 12000btu de corriente 220v marca Hyundai que tengo hace como 15 años y tenía como 5 años que no funcionaba.
Cuando se me daño fue porque se le daño el capacitor de arranque del compresor, lo reemplace pero en el tiempo que demore para conseguir el repuesto fugo el gas refrigerante, en ese momento no tenía dinero para repararlo y como tenía el aire pequeño de respaldo no me obligue a repararlo.
Así pasaron como 5 años hasta que me ví obligado a repararlo, contacte a un técnico especialista de confianza donde hizo una inspección y me presupuesto el mantenimiento, más la carga de gas refrigerante en 40$.
Cuando comienza a realizar el trabajo notamos que el ventilador del condensador no arrancaba, me pide comprar un capacitor ya que no se veía trancado ni dañado, el capacitor me costó 2$.
Pero la sorpresa fue que no arrancó, tuve que comprar el motor del ventilador nuevo lo que elevó un poco el presupuesto ya que costó 25$ que no estaban incluidos en el presupuesto.
Instalan el motor y siguen con el mantenimiento ya todo va marchando bien.
Cuando llega el momento de cargar el equipo con el gas refrigerante el técnico se da cuenta de que la fuga había Sido por las copas o tuercas que aprietan la tubería en el sistema, menos mal el tenía y no me las cobro porque sino se sumaban 10$ más a la reparación.
Una vez realizado el reborde de la tuberia con las copas nuevas con la herramienta especial para eso si se empieza a realizar vacío con un equipo especial para verificar que no exista fuga en otra parte.
La carga se realiza con refrigerante R134a y la carga es un aproximado de 1kg, el equipo para ser cargado se prende conectado a unos manómetros dónde una de las mangueras del manómetro se conecta a la bombona que almacena el refrigerante, como el equipo previo a esto se le hace un vacío al arrancar se abre la llave del manómetro y empieza a consumir refrigerante de la bombona.
Mientras esto se va realizando el compresor está conectado a un amperímetro, con eso se ve que el compresor no trabaje forzado ya que en la placa informativa del equipo dice a cuántos amperios trabaja el equipo, esto es una relación que saca el técnico entre los amperios del motor y las libras de presión que indica el manómetro.
Realizado todo esto ya el equipo está óptimo para funcionar por un largo periodo de tiempo, a este mantenimiento faltó agregar los aislantes de las tuberías pero no lo hice ya que este aire en unos 3 meses máximos lo mudare a otra habitación.
Ya tengo unos días durmiendo arropado con un clima bien rico en mi cuarto 🎊🎊😁.
