Yesterday, we learned the importance of a very small part in the engine: the hose that connects the radiator to the water pump. Ours had a huge crack, which caused the engine to overheat and shut down in the middle of the road. A failure of this hose can cause serious, even permanent, damage if not addressed in time, like a blown head gasket.
We were able to solve it. Thanks to our friend Luis's help, we got a similar hose and adapted it. It was a good reminder that preventive maintenance is key, especially on intensely hot days. A horror story with a happy ending!

Ayer vivimos la importancia de una pieza muy pequeña en el motor: la manguera que conecta el radiador a la bomba de agua. La nuestra tenía una fisura enorme, lo que hizo que el motor se recalentara y se apagara en plena calle. La falla de esta manguera puede causar daños graves, incluso permanentes, si no se atiende a tiempo, como una junta de culata quemada.
Pudimos resolverlo. Gracias a la ayuda de nuestro amigo Luis, conseguimos una manguera similar y la adaptamos. Fue un buen recordatorio de que el mantenimiento preventivo es clave, especialmente en días de calor intenso. ¡Una historia de terror con final feliz!
