Mi padre era mecánico y sus hermanos también, yo diría que mi papá era todero porque sabía de todo, él tenía un taller mecánico y de latonería y pintura, es decir que crecí viendo todo lo que tenía que ver con carros, grasa, motores, pintura de auto entre muchas cosas.

My father was a mechanic and so were his brothers, I would say that my dad was an all-rounder because he knew everything, he had a mechanic shop and brass and paint shop, that is to say, that I grew up seeing everything that had to do with cars, grease, engines, car paint among many things.

Cuando mi padre arreglaba el carro en la casa yo era su ayudante, le pasaba las llaves, los dados, y hasta bombeaba el freno para acomodarlos, me encantaba ayudar a mi padre, y crecí amando los carros, no se dé mecánica porque no me lo propuse, pero creo que lo primero que aprendí fue a verificar el agua y el aceite del carro.

When my father fixed the car at home I was his helper, I passed him the keys, the dice, and even pumped the brake to accommodate them, I loved to help my father, and I grew up loving cars, I do not know mechanics because I did not propose it, but I think the first thing I learned was to check the water and oil in the car.

A la edad de 10 años mi padre me enseñó a manejar y todos los domingos me llevaba a manejar y yo era su chofer solo por ese día, por eso cuando iba a cumplir 15 años pedí de regalo un carro, mis padres no eran ricos ni nada, no importaba que fuera un carro viejo yo solo quería mi carro, y ellos me regalaron un Dodge Aspen ese fue mi primer auto.

At the age of 10 my father taught me to drive and every Sunday he took me to drive and I was his driver just for that day, so when I was going to be 15 years old I asked for a car as a gift, my parents were not rich or anything, it didn't matter if it was an old car I just wanted my car, and they gave me a Dodge Aspen that was my first car.

Como era un carro viejo de vez en cuando tenía fallas, pero yo tenía mi mecánico de cabecera, una de las cosas que aprendí con este auto es que si se sulfataban los bornes de la batería, con una lija y limón podía solucionarlo, así que abría mi capo y allí iba yo con mi limón a limpiar mis bornes, aún lo aplico si me pasa con mi auto.

One of the things I learned with this car is that if the battery terminals were sulfated, with sandpaper and lemon I could fix it, so I would open my hood and I would go there with my lemon to clean my terminals, I still apply it if it happens to me with my car.

También mi primer choque fue a esa edad a los 15 años, y quiero aclarar que no fue mi culpa lo único que por ser menor de edad no podía ganar el caso, pero mi héroe que era mi padre le dijo al señor que fue el culpable, que él no le iba a reparar nada porque él sabía que él tenía la culpa, y yo con aquella pena pues yo le había dicho que mi padre era mecánico y él se lo reparaba que no había problema.

Also my first crash was at that age when I was 15 years old, and I want to clarify that it was not my fault, the only thing was that because I was a minor I could not win the case, but my hero who was my father told the man who was at fault, that he was not going to repair anything because he knew that he was at fault, and I with that sorrow because I had told him that my father was a mechanic and he would repair it, that there was no problem.

Aprendí también a quitarle la pintura a un auto, yo quería que mi padre me pintará el auto así que él me dijo que si yo lo lijaba y le removía la pintura el me lo pintaba, no me quedo otra que decirle a mi novio en ese entonces que me ayudará y emprendí mi trabajo dure un mes con mi lija y agua quitándole la pintura al auto, no es un trabajo fácil por ello admiro a los latoneros, mecánicos, pienso que todo trabajo tiene su esfuerzo.

I also learned to remove the paint from a car, I wanted my father to paint my car so he told me that if I sanded it and removed the paint he would paint it for me, I had no choice but to tell my boyfriend at that time to help me and I started my work, I lasted a month with my sandpaper and water removing the paint from the car, it is not an easy job so I admire the brass workers, mechanics, I think that all work has its effort.

Cuando llegue a la universidad ya tenía otro carro un Cougar, me encantaba ese carro, pero el carro no tenía llave de cruz para cambiar los cauchos, yo le dije a mi padre que me diera una, él me dijo que no había problema que el día que me quedara accidentada cualquier hombre se iba a parar a ayudarme, que eso era ley, y de verdad así fue un día me quede varada con un caucho espichado y me recordé de esas palabras de mi padre, ese día tenía 3 hombres cambiando un caucho, por eso nunca aprendí a cambiar un caucho.

When I got to college I already had another car, a Cougar, I loved that car, but the car did not have a tire wrench to change the tires, I told my father to give me one, he told me that there was no problem that the day I had an accident any man was going to stop to help me, that was the law, and it really was so one day I was stranded with a flat tire and I remembered those words of my father, that day I had 3 men changing a tire, so I never learned to change a tire.
