I've been perusing the gaming dApps on the WAX Blockchain for a few months and I decided I wasn't going to invest any of the numerous facebook-esque games. I wanted some depth to the dApp and Train of the Century looks like it will provide that!
In this regard it is better to buy single cards to get started. I needed a Conductor, the Locomotive, and a Railcar with commodities that fit inside.
I went with uncommon cards for my Conductor and Locomotive
Billy Clover is versatile enough to handle most varieties of train. He also has a lucky trait!
The Kodiak can handle a fair amount of railcars and seemed like a solid choice
And after deciding what I wanted to haul around I went cheap.
Look at this beaut. Has a hold weight of 50
People need Wood Chips!
After trading some 'WAXP' on Alcor exchange for the game currency 'Tocium' to buy Diesel Fuel in the dApp shop I was ready to play!
Every station has different price rates for commodities.
I chose a station that looked good for what I was hauling and plotted my path.
Planning my path to hit stations with good rates for my cargo is going to be important!
When I clicked 'depart' a window popped up and a flashing bar starting selecting random minigames, similar to Mario Party, and I was treated to playing an 'Asteroids' type game!
I was so surprised I barely managed to capture this screenshot!
My high score was zero...
After the destination timer completed I went back and claimed my reward!
Some more Tocium earned!
Train of the Century hosts a story line along with random events such as strangers offering rewards for assisting them. I can't wait to see that!
It took me a few hours to do some research on the game but the development looks solid with what I've seen and it has a depth that shows there is love and effort put into the game.
I spent $4.74 worth of WAXP to be able to play this and after only one day I know I am going to have fun plotting a profitable path going station to station and playing the minigames.
That's all I have today. If you have any questions or have a suggestion about dApps with depth, please leave a comment!
Thank you for reading my adventure about finding Train of the Century on the WAX Blockchain. Have a great day!
