This has been a HUGE week so far in Splinterlands. The past few days saw the 4th End of Season every since the rewards system was totally revamped, and with that, came the LAUNCH OF MODERN/WILD formats! 😱
The past 2 months or so has seen nonstop changes almost every other week though, as the Splinterlands team continues tweaking the rewards system, so I had thought I would be used to it by now. However, the Modern format is as groundbreaking as it comes. It is basically a "reset" of sorts for newer players to compete on an even footing as most of the older editions are "retired". The CP requirement for Modern is also HALVED in comparison to WILD (aka the usual old format), so it really is very friendly towards newer players like myself. 😊
A brief introduction before I start though...
Good Day to all Splinterlands players! (and people of HIVE! 😜) I've made it a point to blog about my weekly progress and experiences in Splinterlands/HIVE in my "weekly diary". Splinterlands & HIVE are what I'd consider to be my entry point into the World of Crypto, and I intend to use this as a means to look back on the path I've taken in the years ahead.⏳⏳⏳
This is now the 34th consecutive week writing in my Diary (of sorts) detailing my Splinterlands Journey ever since I started this game. Of course, this also marks my 34th weekly giveaway! 🎉🥳🎊
No week goes by in Splinterlands without some news event happening though. And here's my pick of some of the most interesting ones in my opinion. 📰📰📰

The End of Season has come again and I eagerly opened my Reward Chests hoping for the elusive Legendary Gold Foil jackpot!
My Alt account was playing in Silver 1 and also finished there for the season. 74 Silver Reward chests in total and it was somewhat average overall I guess. Just 1 epic and not much to speak of in DEC rewards. Fortunately, 2 Gold Foil commons "rescued" the overall rewards valuation.
My main account played in Gold 3 and finished there once again for the season.
My main did really well though. A legendary Countess Sinash (not gold foil 🤣) along with an epic, 10k DEC in total, and FOUR CHAOS LEGION PACKS!!!
Wow! Even though it was just 61 Gold chests compared to my alt's 74, the reward value in those completely blew that out of the water! 🥳🥳🥳
Overall, I finished the season being very satisfied with my rewards 😁. It isn't some awesome jackpot like some really lucky people will inevitably get, but based on the expected average value per chest, I definitely beat the odds this time round.
My quest for that elusive Gold Foil Legendary from my rewards chests continues on though 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀 (It's a 0.008% chance, at base level, to pull a legendary gold foil, in case you were wondering 😉). I'll get there some day (i hope).
🏆💰🎁Modern and Wild Format is HERE🏆💰🎁
I've already covered most of the changes in Modern/Wild and the Reward changes that came with it in my past 2 weeks diary entries, so I don't think I'll repeat myself again 🤣.
What I did notice with the Modern/Wild launch itself though, was that the background art of the game itself has changed.
When you toggle between Modern and Wild, the background changes too. Look at the screenshots of these 2 beautiful images below. It's pretty impressive in my opinion. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Weekly Chaos Legion Sales Tracker
And now, for an update on the number of Chaos Legion packs sold thus far. About 63.5k sold since last week. That is an amazing sales figure! 😄
The sales numbers seem to have gone back to normal since that huge spike last week. That was probably due to excitement of the next airdrop almost reaching the target at the 9million mark. I think we can expect things to be back to normal again.
Here's the current count (as of the moment I'm writing this post) of the number of packs sold, and we're 927k away from the 10 million mark! Which also means everyone has a chance to get in now and grab more packs for the remaining airdrops! 😜
