Here's my 26th Splinterlands Guild Brawl Report for PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish.
It's the β¨π β¨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Fray no.12β¨π β¨ for the 9th week in a row for me.
Instead of listing out the results since week 1, I shall just tally up the total wins/losses from now on, as seen in the table below π. πππ
| Current Tally for the past 8 brawls | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Number of BattlesβοΈ | Winsβ | Lossesβ | Drawβ | Overall Win % βοΈ |
| 29 | 17 | 11 | 1 | 58.62% |
2 weeks of good results has resulted in some nice percentages for my overall scores π€.
I wouldn't read too much into them though. I feel like I'm winning because my opponent has even less Gold Foil cards available to him than I do. Personally, I find it slightly flattering to me. The teams I field are definitely not the absolute strongest, but more of what is available to me.
It also doesn't account for HOW I win some of the fights though. I've realised that a fair number of them are from opponents who just gave up and did not even face me in battle. βοΈβοΈβοΈ
I managed to gather 2000 Merits after today's brawl and bought another Gladius pack. It was not bad at all! 1 Epic and 2 Rares. A pity none were Gold Foils that I could use, but they still add a nice chunk of Collection Power to my decks.
With that said, lets get down to a review of my battles, or in some cases where my opponent fled ππ»π¨ - non battles π¨.
I've joined the Pizza 2 Guild over at the PIZZA DISCORD and was introduced to the world of Guild Brawls in Splinterlands. It has been an interesting experience to say the least. ππ₯³π
Guild Brawls are generally the same as Battles, but with some minor tweaks (of which I'll save for another day). Lets get right down to business as I analyze my brawls. π§βοΈπ‘οΈ
My choice of picking up the Gold Foil frays is to simply give the Guild a better chance at accumulating more wins, seeing especially that NONE of the Gold frays have been filled in the past few weeks (months?). Even if I were to lose everything and win just 1 match, it would definitely help in securing a better finishing position overall.
βοΈπ‘Let the Battles CommenceβοΈπ‘
LOST.
I did not expect a loss here. I think the biggest mistake I made was using the Goblin Tower. Whether it was through terrible RNG or whatnot, that unit only managed to make ONE hit for the entire battle. Yeah, it was THAT terrible. I'll have to really assess whether I should ever use this card ever again. It resulted in the match become a handicap for me. π’
LOST.
Two words - Captain Katie.
That Gladius card is in my opinion one of the strongest cards around. A 3 magic damage sniping unit, it almost ensures it will get a kill on something and allow it to bloodlust it's way to ridiculous portions. Gold Foil frays are hard enough already, and when the opponent has the luck to draw such a card, it is simply an overwhelming advantage that I'm unable to fight against. π
WON.
A close fight. I managed to win with just my Magi Necrosis left standing. My Scavo Hireling did not quite have the effect I hoped it would, getting taken out in a few rounds by the opponent's Deeplurker. Although it still did manage to last for a bit longer than I expected.
I enjoyed this battle though. It was evenly fought and could have swung either way depending on whether or not anyone missed an attack.
πππMy Overall Resultsπππ
I finished with a win-loss ratio of 1 win and 2 losses. π±π₯³π₯
I can't say I'm too pleased with the results today, but neither am I too disappointed. 1 loss was because the opponent had a Captain Katie, for which I'm sure short of being super lucky, most new(ish) players will be completely unable to do anything about. My other loss was yet another close fight, in which I lost due to 1 of my units completely missing almost every single attack for the battle, and my win was a really competitive and satisfying one.
Overall, today's battles really excited me! π€£ No walkovers (unfortunately) but then again, there isn't much fun when all your opponents flee the battle too!
This is one of the reasons I feel it's important that Guilds are able to fill out all the frays - even the significantly "harder" Gold ones. It is very likely that most guilds (at our level) skip the Gold frays completely, or are unable to even field a team if they've got no Gold Foil Summoners. This therefore leads to a better overall score.
π₯π₯π₯Final Standingsπ₯π₯π₯
PIZZA 2 Guild managed to finish in 2nd place! πππ
We finished on the podium again! π₯³π₯³π₯³ It was definitely a good result overall. The top guild was way ahead of us, making it almost impossible to catch up to them, and we pipped the guild in 3rd place by 2 wins, but we were well ahead of the rest of the pack.
Everyone put in effort to do their best and I think we all deserved this 2nd place finish.
Great Job from everyone who took part in the Guild Brawls! I'm proud of you all! ππ»ππ»ππ»
