Here's my 33rd Splinterlands Guild Brawl Report for PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish. πβοΈπ‘οΈ
It's the β¨π β¨Gold Foil Chaos Legion Fray no.12β¨π β¨ for the 16th week in a row for me.
Instead of listing out the results since week 1, I shall just tally up the total wins/losses from now on, as seen in the table below π. πππ
| Current Tally for the past 15 brawls | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Number of BattlesβοΈ | Winsβ | Lossesβ | Drawβ | Overall Win % βοΈ |
| 59 | 32 | 25 | 2 | 54.2% |
Good win streaks aren't a guarantee in the Gold Foil Leagues unless I'm really going to put in a huge amount of $$$ to cover all possible decks. Last week was particularly unlucky, as not a single favourable splinter of mine appeared. No surprise with the drop in my win rate % then. πππ€·π»ββοΈ
I do make it a point to spend quite a bit more, going for Gold Foil cards pertaining to my Daily Focus during active Guild Brawls. With some favourable RNG, it can yield some pretty good results. Of course, this is a pretty high risk/reward strategy which can result in quite bad results if I'm horribly down on my luck. So lets see how it goes again for this week's brawl π.
Hopefully Lady Luck continues to shine on me πππ and I don't get too many weird ruleset combinations which will completely screw up my limited Gold Foil selection of cards. (π€£ yeah, that's how terrible I am, to have to rely on luck for my wins)
- Some thoughts I have about my exploits in the Gold Frays. ππ€
I feel like I'm winning because my opponent has even less Gold Foil cards available to him than I do. Personally, I find it slightly flattering to me. The teams I field are definitely not the absolute strongest, but more of what is available to me.
It also doesn't account for HOW I win some of the fights though. I've realised that a fair number of them are from opponents who just gave up and did not even face me in battle. βοΈβοΈβοΈ
My choice of picking up the Gold Foil frays is to simply give the Guild a better chance at accumulating more wins, seeing especially that IN THE PAST, many Gold Frays were left empty. Even if I were to lose everything and win just 1 match, it would definitely help in securing a better finishing position overall. π₯π₯π₯
It looks like it'll be another 2 weeks at least until I'm able to get another Gladius pack.
π€π»ππ€π»ππ€π»π Fingers crossed for a Gold Foil (Legendary!!!) I hope π€£π€.
I've joined the Pizza 2 Guild over at the PIZZA DISCORD and was introduced to the world of Guild Brawls in Splinterlands. It has been an interesting experience to say the least. ππ₯³π
Guild Brawls are generally the same as Battles, but with some minor tweaks (of which I'll save for another day). Lets get right down to business as I analyze my brawls. π§βοΈπ‘οΈ
With all that said, lets FINALLY get down to a review of my battles π, or in some cases where my opponent fled ππ»π¨ - non battles π¨.
βοΈπ‘Let the Battles CommenceβοΈπ‘
WON.
I was expecting a loss when I saw an opponent with the title "Legionnaire" π±. Thankfully the ruleset was one that allowed only commons and rares. With that being said, this turned out to be a rather straightforward win for me.
My Mycelic Slipspawn drew most of the damaging initial waves of attacks whilst the magic DPS units quickly made short work of the opponent. π₯³
WON.
Another player with a title - The Explorer. π° It sure seems like I'm meeting lots of players with deep pockets.
We both used the Earth Splinter and Obsidian as our Summoner, EVEN THOUGH it was a "no magic" ruleset π€£. I'm not too sure I'd attribute this win to any card in particular. Both my Venari Knifer and Bertrol Gobson did their part in countering the opponent successfully. Thorns and a bloodlusted opportunity unit in such a low mana ruleset is absolutely devastating.
Once again I would think I won because the extreme mana cost limitations prevent any "Big Guns" from showing up. π₯³
WON.
This was a really close shave. I won with just Bertrol Gobson left standing on the field with 1 HP! π± It was a neck to neck race to the finish, and in the end, a powered up bloodlusted Gladius card was what tilted the scales in my balance. As my LAST unit left on the battlefield, it took out the opponent's remaining 3 units with that sliver of HP remaining.
This shows the power of Gladius cards, ESPECIALLY Gold Foil ones. Even if it's "only" a Common, given how rare a Gold Foil Gladius card is, it is a significant advantage for the player who owns and uses one. β¨β¨β¨
WON.
This match could have easily gone horribly wrong for me. When I saw that the opponent had a Gold Foil Captain Katie, I thought I was doomed. Fortunately, she was unable to be the one to land a killing blow on any of my units. Had it been otherwise, I have no doubts my entire team would have been decimated by a super powered up bloodlusted Captain Katie. π
As it was though, My magic based team had the upper hand, bypassing the opponent's armor. It ended up being a more clear cut victory than I would have expected.
WON.
The opponent FLED! ππ»ππ»ππ» Yay? I guess. A win is a win - no matter how it comes about.
πππMy Overall Resultsπππ
Well, who would've thought? π€£ After that less than desirable showing last week, my fortunes have turned around completely!
I finished with a PERFECT 5-0 win streak! π―π―π―
This was extremely satisfying to me, given that it's the highly competitive Gold Foil frays. And it's not like all of them were walkovers too. Only 1 opponent actually fled. The rest of the matches were won fair and square. π₯³π₯³π₯³
I feel it's important that Guilds are able to fill out all the frays - even the significantly "harder" Gold ones. It is very likely that most guilds (at our level) skip the Gold frays completely, or are unable to even field a team if they've got no Gold Foil Summoners. This therefore leads to a better overall score.
π₯π₯π₯Final Standingsπ₯π₯π₯
PIZZA 2 Guild managed to finish in 3rd place! πππ
I was slightly disappointed in the overall placing π’. I would have definitely preferred to have a better overall Guild finishing than any personal win rates for myself. We were just 1 win away from the 2nd place and 3 away from the 1st. Definitely a very close fight.
Great Job from everyone who took part in the Guild Brawls! I'm proud of you all! ππ»ππ»ππ»
