In 2021 the team behind the iconic 21 year old game Habbo released two NFT collections on OpenSea: a genesis collection of 11,600 Habbo Avatars for use in-game with a selection of in-game perks, and a profile picture collection named Habbo Portraits.
After airdropping the first-ever NFT furni to avatar owners in late 2021, the team is now building out an entire ecosystem of Habbo NFTs on Immutable and has recently released NFT credits to support it.
Recently while hanging out over at Metafrens NFT discord channel I came upon someone sharing this project giveaway. OH MY ... you are telling me there’s a Habbo NFT collection on the Immutable? (Ethereum L2 Network)
The team's current plan is to create an NFT Habbo Server, with some possible NFT features that could be added to the existing 9 Habbo servers. They did mention something about play 2 earn but their current emphasis is on integrating the NFT use case with the current Habbo ecosystem. Will this allow the Habbo Franchise to succeed in the metaverse era? Who knows! or will they implement play 2 earn into their ecosystem?
