Bug teams were one of the strongest common builds during Axie's season 19 meta. Despite receiving a nerf after the season, the archetype is still very strong.
Budget Build Strong
Bug teams are a very affordable build at this point, unlike a few months ago.
My latest bug build only cost me 0.07 ETH. Even now, with the price rising a bit, it's still possible to buy this exact build for well under 0.1 ETH. It's an affordable team that is easy to play.
Star of the Show: Mosquito Bug
This is the bug that makes everything possible: Mosquito bug!
The mosquito mouth in the mid is enough for increased damage, shields, and even late game heals all just for losing 25% of our discard attacks in the deck compared to a "full discard" build. It's a solid trade.
Nimo Fish is Necessary
Since we have no 0 cost cards on the midline bug, it'll be more important than ever to have energy generation elsewhere on the team. That's where the classic backline nimo/pocky fish comes into play. This thing wins games.
Remember that you must have the swift escape fin on this fish. That speed manipulation option is the only way to make sure you can outspeed opponents in close endgames.
Frontline Bug: Sticky Goo is Preferred
Sticky Goo is the preferred back part for your frontline bug. Besides that, we're using exactly the standard bug build with parasite/sunder claw/fish snack.
Sticky Goo is useful for slowing the opponent down in the early game, allowing us to get that value from the midline bug.
