The other day I wrote a post about Gnocity and someone had asked what the entry cost might be for gnocity and if was profitable at all.
So what is Gnocity? It is a trading card idle game built on the wax blockchain.
The next generation NFT WAX trading card game. Play to Earn with PVP and Racing Modes. Get rewarded for collecting in Story Mode. Build your collection up. Power up. Skill up. Claim your land.

As you can see they call it a trading card game( I don't see it as one, more of an idle PVP game).
To start I am going to take a look at what a card pack may cost.
With The Skills, you can get a pack that will include the 5 skills you will need to get your 5 gnomes skills and to lv is 6 wax($6.00 at time of writing)
The gnome pack for Starter Base Card Pack - 10 Base Cards has an entry point of 14 wax( $7.20 at the time on writing). This pack comes with 10 base cards.
As you can see for 10 base cards and 5 skills you can get in for around $13.20 or 20 wax. Now, remember this is the bar min entry point.
The next thing I will look at is the cost of entry for 5 cards and 5 skills. This is the bare min that you will need to start the game. At this point, I really think buying 5 cards and 5 skills is the best entry point to the game.
I am going to start this with the skills, When it coms to skills you can buy and add quite a few to help your gnome stronger, You will need to add at least one to get your gnome to lv 1.
These are two of the common skills you can use, They are about 0.1 wax each so way cheaper to buy than a pack but the packs your can get high rating than common.
at these prices, you can buy 5 skills for less than 1 wax. Making this a low entry but remember low entry with common skills means you will likely lose more matches as your skills are low.
When it comes to the base cards or fragments aka gnomes you can also get into the entry much cheaper than with packs. Now with the cards to lower cards, you will earn fewer gnokens for each win.
The entry point for the base is around 0.2 wax, Meaning you can get in with just 1 wax making 5 skills and 5 base 2 wax.
The fragments are a little higher in entry with around 0.5 wax each. I am actually now 100% sure of the difference in them so guess ill have to read up on the difference.
Now the next thing I was asked was if this game was profitable or now, I mean with the base entry of 2 wax it would be a while to likely earn enough gnokens to sell and get 2 wax. Once you are in-game though and you earn gnokens you really don't need to buy wax as you can buy from the in-game market.
If you play and keep your gnomes fed and active you can earn from nothing but cleaning feed and deactivate when they are out of health. They are working on more and more features to make this not so much an idle game.
One other thing is you will want to have quite a few wax staked in you plan to actually play the game and not just leave idle. If you leave it idle you won't need much as it will use others' CPU to fight.
Not sure if this post will help anyone but now you can know the basic entry point to Gnocity
I will be doing a few parts to Gnocityguide and the next one will be how to attach skills to your gnomes and leave them for idle battles.
