A pixel art animation of a forklift truck. This one is perfect for lifting heavy boxes like in the animation shown. I also found out that this type of truck uses its rear wheel to turn left and right. I now wonder what it feels to drive it. Probably challenging for the first time, since most of us are used to drive a car that uses its front wheel to change direction. Or it could be easy since some of the push carts in grocery store has the same concept.
Here is a little behind the scene of the pixel art animation.
Started on these three different sizes of rectangles.
Next, I refined the rectangles into my desired outcome or shape of the forklift truck. We can see here that the accessories or equipment necessary to run the truck is included, like the steering wheel and dashboard for controlling it.
Creating the outline of the wheels. I have noticed that the wheel in front is much bigger compared to the rear wheels. This can be for the support during the heavy lifting of materials. The front has to support all the weight by the front wheel.
Coloring the background and the main body of the truck.
Coloring the seat and steering wheel.
Adding shadings and shadows.
Adding the box that will be lifted by the forklift.
Then for the animation part, I manually move the machine and the box per frame up and down.
