Envy is a normal feeling among humans, but it's a very dangerous feeling if we allow it to dwell in us. I don't see the reason why one will be envious of what he/she doesn't have. Are you envious of what your family member, friends, and relations' success or achievement? Don't act too fast because it'll lead you nowhere rather than making you uncomfortable, and making you hate people around you. If you allow envy to be part of you, you'll find it difficult to get out of the mess, because you'll think you're doing the right thing not knowing you're wrong. Envy will make you feel to take control over what I regard to be other people's labor.
Many people in society today have done horrible things out of envy. This set of people can do everything within their capability to make sure that they get what they want at all costs. I could recall months ago when a family member killed his elder brother out of envy of his wealth. When the man was interrogated about why he killed his elder brother, he explained that the elder brother used to take care of his own family too, but the moment he married, he stopped taking care of him and his children. He became envious of his elder brother's wealth and stabbed him to death because it was the only option for him to pay his elder brother and his wife back. My question is, the same brother who has been taking care of you and your family is who you killed over his wealth. We should learn how to hustle by ourselves in order to wage envy over family, friends, or relation's success or achievement.
I can also remember another horrible thing people do out of envy. Early last year, two good male adults friends reached the stage of getting married. One out of the two has already seen a wife for marriage while the other one was still searching for a woman. One day, the one who has seen a woman to marry invited the girl for a dinner together with his own friend. When the girl came for the dinner, the guy who want to marry her introduced her to his friend and they all enjoyed themselves. As time goes on, the guy fixed their wedding and made his best friend his best man. After the wedding day, the night of their honeymoon, his best friend poisoned his friend and his wife. It was when police were carrying out an investigation about the incident that the hotel attendant explained that it was his best friend that visited the hotel room last. This was how police arrested and jailed the man. During his police interview, the man explained that he was envious to see his best friend marry before him.
It's high time we should learn how to avoid being envious of what belongs to others because it'll give us a perfect life and also make us maintain the love we have for others. If we allow envy to keep controlling us, it'll definitely put us in trouble by doing what we never imagined.
I have also understood that some people envy others because the people are the cause. One certain time, I was envious of my friend's financial success. It was not my fault that I was, but it was my friend who led me to have such feelings. Imagine a friend who I trusted so much, we started leaved life together. One day we both saw a business opportunity and we decided to pursue it at the same time. But my friend was ahead of me based on the knowledge he gathered from the business. We the. contributed a huge amount of money to pursue the business. One day, my friend called me that the business will no longer work out again. But do you know that my friend did that same business with the money both of us contributed? I started seeing the houses and cars that he was doing with the money. Seeing all that, I became envious of his money because anytime I see him, I feel that it's part of my money that made him what he's today.
I'm thankful today for not allowing the envy my friend cost me to eat me up. I have to allow everything for nature to judge.
