great hive minds, I'll love to share with everyone some reasons why I had to quit my job.
Having a job is almost everyone's dream and not just a job but one that make you happy and glad that you wake up in the morning with so much enthusiasm to go to work. This Was what I wanted but I guess not everyone gets what they want.
As a student at home due to the ongoing strike, I decided to look for a job to keep me busy and leave the house coz of boredom. At first, my job made me so happy coupled up with the joy that I got employed in a bookshop which would help me expand my knowledge and read more. The the reverse was the case.
With a week tutorial and observations, I was given the post of a cashier which I wish I never was given. I'll be listing some Don'ts in the bookshop
1). No reading
2). No answering of phone calls and if answered, must be in the presence of my boss.
3). No eating from 9am to 5pm
4). No greeting of people outside
5). Don't accept gifts f on anyone as long as you're in the shop.
6). No talking to each other, and many more I wish I could list.
FIRST EXPERIENCE
As a newbie, I was given a week to understand what goes in the shop before I start participating in sales. On a Thursday morning, just like every other day, sales where going on and customers where being attended to when my boss just walked in with a very terrifying look and no one dared to ask why or say a word.
After some minutes in her office, she came out and went straight to the safe without the knowledge of anyone and took a thousand naira note. The cashier then, then told us that she kept a thousand naira note in the safe but when my boss went to the safe, she couldn't find it anymore but everyone kept calm. Few minutes later, my boss came out and requested for the record book. It was given to her and the sales fir that morning was calculated but a thousand was shorting.
She started calling us thieves including me who just came. She rained curses in everyone and their futures and told the cashier that she's fired. The cashier tried telling her that she saw her take the money but it fell on deaf ears as her things where already brought out of the shop. As my second day at work, I was taken aback and was scared.
SECOND EXPERIENCE
On a bright morning, everyone just finished thier morning chores in the shop and went back on duty but one of my colleagues had not had breakfast yet and it was almost 9 but my boss wasn't around yet so, she decided to eat fast but unfortunately, my boss just came in immediately and everyone became calm and was expecting a drama and indeed it was displayed. She just carried my colleagues food and flung it away, carried her drink and poured it on the floor. And there was me, wondering what she did wrong but couldn't figure it out. With that done, she asked her to mop and sweep the food and when she finished cleaning she asked her to leave her shop as she has being fired without a salary. Without thinking if that was her meal for the day or if she had any other cash as she hasn't been paid for the month.
And it was at this period I was handed the position of the cashier which made me scared and frightened coz if what I had experienced as that was when my slice of cake was offered to me. To be continued......
IF YOU HAD EXPERIENCED THESE KIND OF DRAMA'S, WOULD YOU STILL WANT TO WORK? AND WHY?
Thanks for reading, sharing your thoughts and reblogging. I appreciate 🤗
