Warmest of welcome to you all....
A great day to talk about a beautiful topic, INSPIRATION.
Most dictionaries will define inspiration as;
“the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something (esp creative)”.
Inspiration is a feeling and there's no doubt it brings out the best in us.
We are constantly inspired directly or indirectly as we embark on new tasks in life, most times, the beginning of a task is usually a hard nut to crack and it is mostly In these moments that we seek for inspirations from people that have passed that particular stage in life.
Inspiration just like any other feelings can be lost as evidenced by the moments we feel so down that we can't forge ahead with doing something we formerly enjoyed doing and will chose to be off the task maybe because we're facing challenges along the line that's preventing us from progressing in the task after so many different approaches to solve that particular task.
We may easily fall into depression and lose the inspiration to continue as it seems like it doesn't worth doing anymore.
No wonder Agnes Martin will insist that,
Inspiration Is The Beginning, The Middle And The End
Growing up as a kid, I watched a lot of movies and medical movies weren't exempted.
Even though I didn't understand most of the things that happened in the movies, I just got to observe that no one ever died whenever the doctor was around (in the movies I watched then)
When my grandmother got sick and died, I asked my dad,
"Was there no doctor around the village"?
"Why didn't you take grandma to the hospital where she will get saved like everyone else just like I've watched in movies"?
I can't specifically remember the answer he gave me then, but there and then, I decided to be a doctor who will save even if not the whole world, but then, who will never lose my family members, friends and relatives to the cold hands of death.
This happened when I was in Primary 4, almost 15years ago now, but, the statement keeps firing up in my head.
Whenever I get tired of Medical School and questions myself if it's really worth it, I always remember the death of my grandma and my decision not to lose my loved ones again to the cold hands of death.
As an adult, I already found out that doctors are not God and people still die even in the presence of countless doctors, but then, I already left an inspiring message in my brain that pushes me never to get tired and pursue my dream.
I am yet to actualise my dream of which I'm inspired to, but then, I am certainly better and closer than I was yesterday.
There have also been many instances where I've been motivated to do a whole lot of things including when I joined the Altar Knights Association after reading the story of St.Tarsicius (second patron saint of Altar Servers), just to mention but a few.
Whenever we are inspired, it's always a question of, If Mr. A could pull this off, then I too can do it and it just feels like you're working with doubled effort...
Inspiration is the sauce to life,
Inspiration is the greatest ingredient of life;
Inspiration makes life worth living;
Never neglect the power of Inspiration
