Hi dear Hivers.
There is a certain photo that has been sitting in my gallery for quite a while now. It’s been in there for over two years as I didn’t view it as anything serious until of recent. If there is anything hive has taught me, it will be that anything can be creative, it all depends on you and if you want it to be or not.
Seeing the photograph recently, I got the “creative juice” and it came with some context I just felt the need to share it to everyone so here we go.

It was a market day.
I went to the market to get some ingredients I needed to make lunch back home. My memory is quite hazy as it’s been a long time but my best guess is I was shopping for ingredients to prepare stew.
Not just any stew but The Nigerian stew. I lay much emphasis on it so you know I how I had to be on the look out for the ripest, juiciest and freshest ingredients to prepare the stew.
This is already a key tip so I’ll leave you to take take a wild guess on what is in the image. 😉
Usually, whenever I leave for the market I always take my phone with me just incase I need to call home for any extra thing I forgot to add or simply any minor emergency. I also don’t carry a purse because I feel it is an unnecessary extra burden. I prefer to keep the cash in my pockets or simply hold it in my hand.
While shopping at the market that day, I must have mistakenly captured a photo because I sincerely don’t remember pulling out my phone to take a picture of any thing. I was even already too busy struggling with the butcher, the market women or something lol. Some of us may already know how busy the market can be especially a proper African market. If it isn’t the meat sellers delaying you, it will be other traders screaming in your ears. Not to mention the ones that even go as far as literally hauling and harassing you just to patronize them.
Frustrated me finally done with buying all I needed, I headed back home. Now at home, I sorted out everything I bought and immediately commenced cooking.
After what seemed like forever, I was done with cooking, I took a bath then lay in bed to scroll through all I’ve missed on social media.
I was about to share a funny meme I remembered taking a screenshot of before going to the market then I stumbled on the photograph. I was initially surprised because I knew I didn’t knowingly take this photo and it wouldn’t just magically appear in my phone so I began to retrace back my steps. I thought and thought of how the image could have gotten to my phone but I couldn’t just figure out how.
The photo was so clear to have been taken unaware. And I am not talking about the type of unawares people fake nowadays. Like how I saw a clip of this lady asking her friend to take an unaware video of her - she told her friend to start the video from a certain angle so as soon as she walks out the door so she can act like she does not know she is being filmed, then her friend would call out her name and thats her cue to smile and wave.
I felt so embarrassed for them. Sorry not sorry 😂
Well no not that type of “aware unaware” lol,
for this photo I was so unaware that I myself can not even believe the image before my eyes was taken by me.
It is so clear and not even blurry in the slightest.
Then it hit me.
This photo could have been any of us. Sometimes you may forget or simply be unaware of how charming, artistic and blessed you are until someone else notices it and cherishes us for it. Then you begin to wonder;
Why does this person love and adore me so much.
