We are faced with decisions everyday and we need to be careful while making decisions as the decisions we make today will play out in the near future.

You hear motivational speakers say things like "your situation today is as a result of your choices yesterday" and that makes a lot of sense. You shouldn't expect to harvest corn when you plant thorns. Let me tell you a story about what my indecisiveness taught me.
During my senior year in highschool, I was silently vying for the position of a sanitary prefect. I didn't know what it entailed. I didn't ask questions either, all I knew was that I wanted to be a sanitary prefect but then, indecisiveness kicked in. Was I worthy of the position? What if they gave me another position? What if I chose to be a labour prefect instead? Lots of thoughts kept kicking in and my maths teacher finalised everything for me.
He came to me and told me that he informed the school authorities about me. He went further to say that he told them to cross out my name and that he didn't want me to be a prefect. He just wanted me to keep being one of his best maths students. That wasn't his decision to make but since I couldn't make the decision myself, he helped me.
A year passed and the offer to be a prefect came back to me. I probably wouldn't have accepted the offer because of my indecisiveness. This time around, I was given the offer outrightly.
Being a prefect wasn't so bad at all. Apart from the fact that we had to ensure everything was in place, the prestige that came with being a prefect was somewhat cool.
Eventually, I wasn't given the post of a sanitary prefect, rather, I was given the post of a dining prefect. It was tedious, no doubt but I brought it upon myself.
In the end,I realised that the position I was vying for was the most tedious after the position of a senior prefect. Sanitary prefects had to ensure everywhere was spick and span and if they derail even one bit, the faced serious consequences.
My indecisiveness bailed me out of so much school stress but it's not always like that. Sometimes, indecisiveness is very dangerous. Letting people make decisions for you in general is also very dangerous.
Once you're faced with a decision to make, look at the bigger picture. Don't just make decisions because of your present situation, think 'long term', do research where necessary and you're sure to make a good decision.
