Today, I pause not just to celebrate a birthday🎉🎂, but to reflect with gratitude, intention, and clarity. Another year older means another year of lessons learned, risks taken, mistakes made, and growth earned. It is a reminder that progress is rarely loud or instant; most times, it happens quietly in the long nights, the uncomfortable decisions, the moments when giving up felt easier than pushing forward.
This past year taught me the value of patience, consistency, and self-belief. It showed me that every step count, even when the destination is not clear yet. I have learned that growth does not always look like success on the outside, but it always feels like resilience on the inside. I am grateful for the people who have supported me, challenged me, collaborated with me, and believed in me even when I was still finding my footing. Every conversation, project, setback, and small win has played a role in shaping who I am becoming.
Before now, I often times get angry when people say they do not celebrate their birthday but now I understand better. For many people, it’s not about lacking money. It’s about experiences, disappointments, or sense of irrelevance in the past; a feeling, hurt or pain they are yet to heal from. Some people are very self-reflective that all they think about on birthdays is their life so far, growth, goals yet to be achieved and birthdays remind them of time passing, not just celebration. While Some people are uncomfortable being the center of attention and prefer quiet moments over public celebrations, they have learned to celebrate themselves quietly and acknowledge their progress internally and move on.
All the same, I believe birthdays is just a perfect time to reflect on the total days of existence on earth, the grace to survive the 365 days of a year notice the growth, progress, resilience and determination to get a better tomorrow and not repeat the mistakes of a bad yesterday. The celebrations must not necessarily be in form of an occasion but doing something to celebrate oneself and keep memories just like I took pictures to keep memories of my 2026 birthday.
ONCE AGAIN, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME.🎂🍰🥂🎉 Cheers to a blessed and greater year
