I'm always trying to come up with ideas for things that could improve Hive. One of the concepts that I always try to keep in the forefront of my mind is that Hive Power is the power to do good. That mindset partially influenced this idea.
SwarmShare:
A non-KYC funding app for the world, using the Hive blockchain as its basis.
Basic Concept
Hive users can set up campaigns similar to Gofundme or GiveSendGo and request help funding their effort. The campaigns would have a goal and a need date. Other users can then make donations in HBD to go towards the goal. The app account would collect and distribute the funds similar to conventional giving platforms.
Opportunities and benefits
This could be used to help fund efforts which may not be able to garner DHF funding despite being generally popular.
Campaigns often go viral and the app would fill a niche as the non-KYC option for giving. This could lead to new exposure and new accounts created with the immediate purpose of buying Hive and/or HBD.
I believe that once the system is up and running and has proven itself, one could craft a DHF proposal for a specific HBD amount to go towards a percentage match for Hive related campaigns. I'm thinking of like 25% match. It would work like this... A DHF proposal would pass funding 5000 HBD towards popular qualifying Hive projects. The criteria for what qualifying meant would have to be ironed out. For those projects, once they reach 75% of their goal, the HBD SwarmShareDHF (SSDHF) fund would kick in the last 25%. This gives another method for DHF to support popular community curated efforts without having to fund every proposal. Once the funds from the SSDHF are depleted, a new proposal would be submitted.
An enterprising owner could provide the service of collecting donations via credit card and charge a fee for this service or collect donations as a fee for this service. Of course, depending on implementation, this might introduce KYC.
Funding campaigns are something that people want to share. If you can't support it financially, you can support through sharing. This gives good exposure to Hive because it demonstrates the community, it demonstrates the utility of the chain, and it doesn't rely on inflation to fund its ongoing development.
