I too have imagined a system where you can utilize crypto as the payment method even in stores. From a utility perspective, not only does it allow a currency that is not based on one specific locale, but it also allows a more streamlined buying process. Just as people love using apps like Venmo or Zelle to send money, the same phone-based interaction could be used as an interface for sending crypto, so instead of carrying cash or even a card, you simply need your phone. Additionally, from a security perspective, it would be much harder for someone to try to physically steal your currency because an encrypted wallet is much safer than physical fiat or a magnetic strip on a card. With HIVE there is even more benefit, because the transactions are so fast and are also fee-less. Technically speaking most of the systems are individually already there, with my previous and current experience I can make it. The only missing key is the adoption of the crypto from the users (store owners and customers.)
