I had a beautiful client today and I was genuinely happy with how her look turned out.
Edited and unedited work.
Before the makeup I took permission form her to take a picture before and after.
I always prioritize proper skin prepping and the use of quality products to ensure that my makeup stays longer and looks neat.
Before and after look.
Because I am a soft glam make-up artist I don't really like heavy glam. I love when make-up looks elegant, soft and enhance your natural beauty. All my clients likes it soft too.
But here’s the honest truth…
Makeup always looks more flawless on camera than in real life.
In reality, makeup is still makeup it sits on the skin.
But these days, photo editing has made it difficult for people to understand what real makeup actually looks like. The smoothing, blurring, and the filters create an almost unrealistic standard.
Unedited look.
Because of that, many people expect every makeup look to appear as smooth and perfect as edited pictures. And when a makeup artist’s work looks natural and real, some people assume the artist didn’t do a good job.
Good makeup enhances your skin, it doesn't erase it or make that scars go away.
As makeup artists, our job is to make one look beautiful, confident, and still like yourself and it's not to perform a plastic surgery or give you a filter version of reality.
All pictures are mine, took permission from my client to post too
