Hi, there
This is my entry to the #MakeupChallenge Initiative (Week 8). You can see the details in this post.
When I saw that the topic for this week was flowers I inmediately thought about my mother and her favorite flower, the Daisies or Margaritas.
One year ago, yesterday, I left my home country, Venezuela, to come to Brazil to live with an aunt who offered to get me through college. It was going to be impossible for me to study in Venezuela for reasons you should know by now.
It was very hard for me to leave my mother and the rest of my family and friends. One year later, it still hurst in ways I cannot put in words. So, I dedicate this makeup to my mother, Yanaky, to show her how much I love her.
Process
Here's my face, all mine, pale, washed, with prominent eyebags, by the way. I applied this thing that is supposed to be a primer I recently bought. It smells like honey. It prevents the makeup from cracking.
I start painting my face like an indian warrior, some corrector under the eyes and foundation on the rest of the face.
This is the result of everything uniformly spread.
I combined some bright colors to shadow the eyelids. I started with a bee yellow, then I added a darker yellow and blurred it with orange, trying to create the idea of a sunset.
These lines did not come out as I wanted them. Here I was actually wondering why the past generation voted for chávez (small c on purpose). I wanted to combine the white of the petals that would be on my cheeks. I applied an orange blush.
I decided to go simple with tiny daisies across my face.
I remembered my ArtAttack days and took my little cousin's water colors...
Here's the result! Hope you liked it.
