I guess I finally grew up? Most of the time, I don’t wear makeup and even go outside bare faced. I’ve also talked about some of my minimalist makeup in the past but now, I wanted to explore it more.
Since I used to travel like a feral and a hobo, difficult makeup isn't definitely on my list. But now, I promised myself to stop traveling like a hobo and do proper travel where I can dress up and look put together. Having make up skills will definitely help too. From what I see, even the simplest makeup isn’t so simple at all. I tried following this favorite makeup youtuber of mine, Haley Kim but apparently she also still used concealer, corrector, bronzer and highlighter.
For someone who only has lipstick, blush and now, trying eye shadows- that’s a lot more steps than I anticipated haha. Even today, I was still learning how to correctly apply eye shadows and hoping I didn’t look like a clown but it’s okay too if I ended up looking like that. Afterall, I am learning something new and will be sharing more here.
Before everything else, I am doing some prep skin that’s pretty simple for now. I haven’t researched more on good moisturizer so I just used serum and sunscreen before I am applying everything else. This is before and after I applied stuff to my face, barefaced and full make up on.
I am using eye shadows from Red-A with pink shades and bicolor. I have hooded eyes and it’s pretty challenging to make the eye shadows visible and I learned that apparently you have to put them just above our hooded eyes. This brand is really subtle and it’s not popping as much as other brands that I tried. My room has this yellow-ish color so it makes me look yellow but when I stepped outside with natural light, you can see the right side of picture
Then, I use blush from Wardah which has been with me for a while now. They added some nice touch to my simple look and I haven’t changed brands since. Finally finishing the look with the lipstick that I got today from PinkFlash, it’s creamy and has a nice color.
I specifically don’t buy high ends brands for now because I am experimenting with colors that truly suit me. Since I know pink seems to work on me, I am planning to get a palette from Revlon that has almost the same color as Red-A. I also saw a palette from PinkFlash and it looks really cute and has plenty of colors too. So, both are in my wishlish!
Anyway, I hope it didn't stop from here and I can try other shades and perhaps finally mastering the art of smokey eyes and eye-liner 😊
