Ennema Borgh, Midwolda, Oldambt
In the North East part of the province of Groningen in Netherland, lies the municipality of Oldambt. And in one of its villages, Midwolda, there is the manor of Ennema. It was originally build somewhere in the fourteenth century and severly renovated in the 18th. At the back there is a small pond, a left over from the ditch that once surrounded the manor.
There is a forest park behind the building, a nice area for a long stroll. In the woods is where the wild horses can be found. From the smalltown of Winschoten it is about a 30 minute bikeride. The manor lies next to lake Oldambt and there are plenty of places in the region to stay the night over. With municipalities like Westerwolde next door there are lots of places to explore.
The former carriage house next to the manor is a grand Cafe, opened on Saturdays and Sundays. Excursions start from this place. And after having walked a 6 kilometer route it is a fine place to take a break and enjoy a drink. All in all a place worth visiting if you happen to be in the neighborhood. :-)
Have a great one!
